An Inner War

I am fighting an inner war.
I was doing something but they expected more.
I screamed, “I’ve heard all your words of deception before”.
As I keep taking those words to my core.

Sometimes I think about it too much.
Sometimes I skip dinner, breakfast, and lunch.
Found my own soul, was too cold to touch.
Was not gentle, and packed a punch.

Recognized I have to be hospitalized.
They give me pills, but it’s death in disguise.
It’s a placebo; it screws with my mind.
They say we are alive but we are all being utilized.

I see my demons are creeping.
All these jumps I keep leaping.
All this lies I keep believing.
There’s a man I hear screaming.
There’s a kid I hear weeping.

The world is tangled and we are caught in a rope,
Of lies, broken promises, and lost hope.
This rope is thinner than a string,
We are fallen angels with broken wings.

The feeling is as painful as the claws,
That gnaw at me every single day,
While others sit in awe.
Like they are so drawn into all my flaws.
My skin is becoming so raw,
I let it sit, let it rot.

Blood pouring out of my eyes,
Words crawling out of my soul, heart and mind.
Feeling so traumatized,
Everyone is unstabilized,
With their disarranged minds.

I feel so trapped,
My bottle is capped.
This bottle of emotions,
Is building itself an ocean.

Thousands of homicides,
Thousands of messed up lives,
So many are paralyzed,
So many take the knife and end a life,
Thinking it leads to paradise.

Faithfully a man came to me,
Where he’s gonna go, we’ll see.
What he has to do, we’ll know.
What he has to become, he’ll show.
What were gonna do, we’ll go.
What he’s gonna say, he won’t.
Because only pain is what he spoke.
And this is what we now know.
