I started this game with only minimal knowledge of the characters and their deep and beautiful personalities, and by the end I couldn't have asked for more.

From the stunning character animation and beautifully personalised character design, to the charming story. I was beside myself with grief every single time I was faced with the prospect of freeing each of those spirits.

I especially had a connection with the character Alice, as my grandfather, much like Alice, lost himself to dementia. It was excruciating to watch a character with such a beautiful heart begin to deteriorate in such a way.
Stanley also pulled a great amount of tears from me and yet I wouldnt have changed a single thing, my tears only proved how beautiful and deep the personalities and stories of these characters are.

This was one of the games that I can say without hesitation, left me feeling empty when it ended, when each of those characters I had loved so much had moved on and there was nothing else to collect, I simply sat there, staring at the title screen and listening to the calming music and I felt my heart become a little emptier, but just as the theme of letting go in this game, everything comes to an end.

Spiritfarer is a game I would highly recommend to anyone scared of the idea of letting go. Or anyone who just enjoys a good cry.

A 10/10 game
