Could maybe almost make for a decent low-rent horror adventure game, except for that:

1. The environment is a house you own except nearly all the doors are conspicuously locked to force you into a narrow and linear path where it is always obvious where you should go and what you should do (nothing against linearity, except...)

2. Your protagonist talks to himself constantly about everything that has just happened, saying what you should obviously then do, and

3. Pop-up text: NEW OBJECTIVE: DO THE THING YOU SHOULD OBVIOUSLY DO.

4. Pop-up text in the center of the screen: "The diary has been updated" every 30 steps you walk.

There is no option to disable any of this garbage. There is no "I am not an utter moron, thanks" mode.

Ever heard of a game called Resident Evil 7? That's a better version of this game. Play it. Play it again. Despite being targeted at a mass market, to my recollection it does none of that insulting nonsense.

I played this less than an hour and I stopped playing and uninstalled when I turned to face a wall and the sole adornments were a portrait of H.P. Lovecraft and a portrait of Edgar Allen Poe.

Thanks, Humble Choice.

One Step From Eden is decent.

Overcooked 2, Children of Morta, and Still There look promising but I haven't tried them yet.

Hard pass on the rest.

Was anything good on humble choice this month? Thinking about skipping it.
