But the servers were laggy, and the hit-reg was questionable, and great was the gnashing of teeth.

For the smokes were as clouds without prophecy,
changing form at random, obeying neither science nor skill.
And the bullets went forth, yet they landed not where they were aimed,
for the spread was wide and the netcode unforgiving.

The matchmaking spake lies unto the faithful,
placing the righteous with the reckless,
and the solo queue was a valley of despair,
where teamwork was promised but never delivered.

And the performance did stutter upon machines both old and mighty,
so that the frames fell as manna spoiled upon the ground.
Then the players cried out, “Was CS:GO not sufficient?”
But Valve answered not, for it was busy counting skins.

Thus CS2 was released unto the world, unfinished and unrepentant,
and hope was patched out day by day.
