Old wonky GTA2 style controls and all! The QoL additions were nice.

I do recommend the game so long as you expect exactly what it says to be. Yes, it's math. It's a simple collection of math & logic combination puzzles. The screenshots, description, and price do not mislead in anyway. So if logic math puzzles piques your interest to pass time between meetings, then this will work for you.

I hadn't read up on "Finding Paradise;" bought it after playing "A Bird Story" and "To The Moon" but didn't get around to playing it until many years later. So much later that I had forgotten most everything about those two titles, and that "Finding Paradise" was created by the same developer.

When I started playing this game I was pleasantly surprised to find "hey, I know these characters and this feels familiar." And then the first memory traversal back to early childhood - "I've seen this kid and balcony before! It was some game with this kid and a bird!" At that point I checked the developer page and it all came together. I really like how "Finding Paradise" brings the previous two titles together, building on both of them. With even a dash of "The Mirror Lied" tension/horror if you want to look at it that way.

Much like every previous title, this game is truly story and narrative driven. Player interaction is light; exploration is basic. But this all serves to ensure the pacing of the story is not disrupted too much. There isn't much to say that many others have not yet written. It's a wonderful game. It could have used a little less humor. The serious subject matter and increasing tension don't need much levity and would have a more powerful impact without it. However I did enjoy the geek culture references and some of the character banter, so it's not much of a criticism.

Repetitive, but enjoyable. Honing those point and click accuracy skills!

It's not a $10 game, but in a bundle or at a discount it's fine. There isn't anything misleading in the pictures or description; you need to realize it's a basic grind and invest emulating part of the table top experience. I wouldn't give it 4 or 5 stars, but it's good enough for what they set out to do.

It's fairly basic, but it let me play Sudoku with the kids on the TV and they laughed at the crappy bunny. That counts for something, right?

Early Access Review
1/23: Original, positive review is below for reference. Today a major graphics overhaul of the game was released, and to be blunt it is terrible. The developer claims months of research and feedback went into the redesign. Clearly they were interviewing children, lonely pent up teenage boys, and watching cartoons. As I had originally written, the old graphics weren't great, but they were fine. The characters and enemies were proportioned normally, for the most part. Now, they've swollen the boobs of the women, gave the men massive heads, the enemies have fragile chicken legs, and there seems to be no pattern in body part size ratios anymore. Everyone has their own, unique, awkward look. Weapons look ridiculous. And the chat space all day has been hundreds of us making non-stop fun at how stupid it now all appears.

I know people are resistant to change. I would be ok with an art change if it made sense, or was done well. But this... I can't in good faith leave the old review as a positive until they reduce the silliness of this redesign.

Original review:

Clickers don't light my gaming world on fire. But the scaling math aspect to them has always been a little interesting and amusing. Though lacking somewhat artistically, overall this is a good release. Cycles are short, idling is just about as effective as actively playing, and check-ins are brief. And it doesn't have to be played for a year or more to unlock every feature, hero/creature/zombiddle/etc, or achievement.

"What" you say, "that's it? That's not very much interaction time! To arms!" Yes, that is it, and for clickers that is exactly what I want.
