An old tale of mine:

Back in the 50's, Soviet Russia experimented with combining fruit with aircraft, a ploy to create cheap military equipment with the massive shipments of fruit coming from Belorusia. яблоко струи (yabloko strui) was the first prototype, a Soviet fighter constructed out of apple-based fibers and metals. Of course, the project was soon cancelled because it was stupid to begin with, and was brushed under the Red rug. The "Apple JET" still exists today as a museum piece in Tumannyy, Russian Fed.
