Hypnospace Outlaw takes you back to the pre-2000s Internet where spinning logos, broken HTML, and Pokemon demonization reign. But it's not just Crappy GeoCities Page Simulator, as you play an Internet moderator looking for harassment, malware, and so on. As you play you read the stories of the various page creators, which set up a huge gut punch gut at the end.

But the puzzles are kind of annoying. They start out fine, looking through a few pages for pictures of a cartoon fish. But eventually you're piecing together information from multiple pages to try to get into a file sharing service. One requires you to install a piece of malware (in-game, not on your real computer) that will not go away until you pay to remove it, and while it's a cute callback to things like Bonzi Buddy, deliberately annoying is still annoying. Also, the final puzzle requires the most expensive version of the antivirus to complete, and doing that in a game where money is limited (unless you stumble upon a minigame I only found out about in a walkthrough) not to mention constantly being sapped if you bought a pet and are trying not to let it starve, and not even giving a discount if you bought a cheaper version is just mean.

A fun little bullet hell shooter that can be toned down for people who want to play bullet hell shooters but get overwhelmed, or cranked up for hardcore fanatics. Nice soundtrack, too!
