To be fair Kolby, you have to have a very high IQ to enjoy Nier Automata. The gameplay is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of jiggle physics most of the jokes will go over a typical streamer's head. There's also Yoko Taro's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from the works of Neon Genesis Evangelion, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the gamer skills to truly appreciate the depths of these breast, to realise that they're not just fanservice- they say something deep about LIFE (you understand life, do you?). As a consequence people who dislike the Nier truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the reference in 2Bs existential naming which itself is a cryptic reference to Shakespeare's english epic Hamlet. I'm smirking right now just imagining these addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Yoko Taro's genius naming unfolds it
