Report a translation problem
Parent objects instead of joining them, then select the main parent object, and then select the bone, and then automatic bone weights,
Make sure your keyframes are selected, deselect them, then select them again, and then press x to delete
Try not to join objects. In my experience, it causes colors to appear the same, and you can't edit it as well. Try parenting intead and also group your models so you can easily manage them with visibility.
Try extruding the bones, I'm not really sure if it's the problem, but don't actually create new bones, unless you know how to parent the bones to the main bone(such as the spine or hips).
