I personally really recommend Coromon, and am having a lot of fun playing it! The creature designs are fun, the pixel art is gorgeous, the animation is also very nice. It's just a fun monster collector JRPG and for it's price it's definitely worth the hours you'll get out of it.
The story isn't anything insane or spectacularly unique by any means, but it's not unbearable.

I want to mention that there are some quality of life features that I feel like really need to be added (and hopefully will be eventually!)
- Not being able to press B to close menus or continue dialogue! It's a bit annoying to have to scroll once choose "add coromon to storage" at the end of every time you catch one, instead of being able to just quickly press B to auto-select that option (if this makes sense).
- When you're at the top of a list, you can't scroll up to be taken to the bottom of said list. You have to scroll alllllll the way down, and vise versa.
- It'd be nice if there was a "last used item" feature, especially in battles. It can get a bit annoying to have to go all the way back to the specific spinner you want, or to just go back to the spinners in general when a catch fails.
- It would be nice to indicate if you've 1HKO something, as the health bar goes down the same rate no matter what. Grinding levels by 1shotting feels so much slower because of this, imo
- Slightly related to the previous point, when battling multiple coromon and you 1HKO all at once, you have to see each of their dying animations and EXP gain separately- grouping it all up in one go just feels more efficient, and again, not as slow and painstaking.

There may be some other small QOL things that I can't recall off the top of my head right now, but it's nothing inherently game breaking, maybe just a bit of a VERY MINOR annoyance, or feels like it slows the game down in an inefficient way.

All in all, it's enjoyable and if you enjoy monster collecting games then I'd definitely give it a try!

Early Access Review
it's super fun if you don't mind the buggy-early access, and don't mind a weird learning curve!
