Yeah, its fun! If you prefer the slower aspects of the Souls series, the game might not be for you and you might get a better experience using Seamless Co-op on Elden Ring or DS3 with friends. But if you only have time for shorter sessions or are itching for something a bit faster paced and less committal in terms of build, this is perfect. No pressure to stick to one playstyle, you can just choose a new one each expedition! Can't wait to see what kind of challenge runs people make for themselves in this game.

going to try refund the game - I will happily repurchase and change this review if the game improves but as much as i love the gameplay, I can't recommend the game in it's current state

the times i'm usually able to play the game the servers and/or matchmaking are screwed, so I can't even play the game i purchased

it's not really fair on people to say "oh stop complaining about online only and no solo play, it's still a good game!"
yes! it's a fun game! but i can't play it. how can I recommend a game I can't play?

Early Access Review
A rougelike that doesn't really feel like a rougelike, but in a good way. So addictive and always entices you to play again, when you die you don't feel as much frustration as you would in a game such as, say, Dead Cells.

A game I have loved playing and will play for much longer.

Rivals Of Aether is by far one of My Favourite Games of All Time, Arguably My Favourite.

To Summarise, Rivals Of Aether (Commonly Abbreviated to RoA or Rivals) is a Melee-Inspired Platformer Fighting game. It takes many traditional elements from Smash Bros. games, such as the idea of percentages and launch rates instead of HP, and attempts to focus on it's more competetive sides. It is well polished and even boasts a few features of it's own, (or rather at times, lack of (See Tweet: https://twitter.com/danfornace/status/876313813628440576 ). It's artstyle really shines in the game, taking a retro 2D pixel graphics instead of the traditional 3D for PlatFighters. The characters are balanced and are fun to play, and there is bound to be a playstyle in there that fits you. If you want to get into more advanced techniques of PlatFighters, RoA does a great job of doing so with it's Tutorials.

I have no regrets buying this game, and will continue to support it for a long time.

TLDR - Basically Melee for PC and its really really cool get it now.
