Similar enough to the CIV games that I think many people who enjoy one will enjoy the other. While I think Frostpunk has less replayability and feels less complex, I enjoyed the gameplay much more. Gameplay felt more streamlined than CIV games with more to manage than just waiting for the next day/turn. I did think it was a lot easier than I expected based on how it was advertised though, as long as you're familiar with macro-concepts in RTS games. For the price (especially on sale) I definitely recommend it.

Each Episode is better than the last. Starting out facing the problems you expect in grade-school, particularly bullying, but the game ends up facing much bigger problems with greater consequences and takes on some larger philosophical and moral questions surrounding time-travel. Starts light hearted but progressively gets darker and darker, leading to the pretty disturbing last episode.

I particularly enjoyed the massive amount of very subtle easter eggs or clues throughout the game and constant use of themes and imagery, The quality of this aspect mirrors a well written novel, with many intricacies to allow you to re-visit the story again and notice things missed the first time through.

I have a couple small issues with the very ending, feeling like it wasn't fully fleshed out or like it was maybe rushed. However it won't ruin your experience, as the journey is well worth every penny spent.
