Ich muss sagen, dass ich von "Dredge" nicht enttäuscht wurde. Es ist zwar kein Spiel, das dich in den Wahnsinn treibt oder dich bis zur Grenze des Erträglichen gruselt, aber es hat seinen eigenen Charme und seine eigene Art, dich in seinen Bann zu ziehen.

Die Darstellung des Horrors in diesem Spiel ist eher subtil und zurückhaltend, aber das ist auch das, was es so faszinierend macht. Das Spiel nimmt dich mit auf eine Reise durch die Ozeane und lässt dich dabei spüren, dass unter der Oberfläche etwas lauert, das du nicht ganz begreifen kannst. Es gibt Momente, in denen du dich fragst, was da draußen ist und was es will, aber das Spiel lässt dich nie ganz allein mit deinen Ängsten.

Die Spielmechanik ist solide, wenn auch etwas einfach. Es gibt einige grundlegende Angel-Minispiele und Interaktionen mit den Bewohnern der besuchten Inseln, aber im Großen und Ganzen geht es darum, dein Boot aufzurüsten und mehr Fische zu fangen. Das mag nicht sehr aufregend klingen, aber es funktioniert gut und ist sehr befriedigend.

Die Grafik ist schön und der Artstyle passt perfekt zum Thema des Spiels. Es gibt keine Bugs, was in der heutigen Zeit selten genug ist, und das Spielprinzip ist leicht zu verstehen.

Das Spiel hat seine Schwächen in der zweiten Hälfte, wenn die Upgrades zu schnell und zu einfach kommen und das Spielprinzip sich etwas wiederholt. Aber die verschiedenen Mechaniken in den einzelnen Gebieten und die melancholische Handlung machen das Spiel trotzdem noch lohnenswert.

Insgesamt bietet "Dredge" etwa acht bis zwölf Stunden Spielspaß, was für den Preis angemessen ist. Es ist ein ruhiges und entspanntes Spiel, das perfekt ist, wenn du einfach nur ein paar Nächte chillen und angeln möchtest. Wenn du also nach einem ruhigen und befriedigenden Gameplay-Loop suchst, der gelegentlich von ein paar gruseligen Momenten durchbrochen wird, dann ist "Dredge" definitiv einen Versuch wert.
