Early Access Review
I once booted a game called Diablo in my early teens. It changed my life forever.

Exploring the catacombs under Tristran as the music both in the safe havens I helped create alongside the people of the town and in the bowels of the earth itself drove me, beckoned me to go one more room, one more staircase below is one of the experiences I treasure in my gaming career, and one I thought I would never get again.

Then came Dark Souls. And once my time with Lordran ended, I thought this time for sure it cannot be replicated: the layered map, the melanchony of it all, the vibrant places I roamed - this is it, right? This is the perfected, evolved, final stage of that Diablo rush I experienced all these years prior.

Then came Hollow Knight whose strings and plight encased my heart forever.
And once again I thought for sure there was no way it could go above that or even reach it.

When No Rest for the Wicked was announced it was the artstyle that caught me first. Then as I played it became everything else aswell.
Of course this is not the final version of the game, Moon Studios has a plan and is willing to iterate both on feedback and on their creative visions, and as a career creative myself I respect both these approaches.

As a lifelong videogame fan however, I am caught by this game. As I got to the shores of Isola Sacra, I was a kid trudging through the threshold of the Tristan cathedral once more. And a grand adventure was looming over me.

This game deserves its praise, it deserved my money and my time, I gifted it to my friends and can't wait for the full release.
