Others are not kidding, I too wish I could wipe my mind and replay this game again multiple times. It is the quintessential of what a videogame should be.

This game encapsulates everything a good video-game should be, it's blatantly clear the developers had a deep-rooted passion and love for this game and it shows in every single aspect of the game. This game is not just puzzles, it's all. It has multiple sequences reminiscent of other genre's; Mario, Diablo, Mortal Kombat, Crash Bandicoot, to only name a mere few. Every level or section, the game introduces a new gameplay element to add variety and challenge, the game design fits those new additions perfectly but don't make the game too complex or difficult. No second is dull. Visually, it's also jaw-dropping and the game introduces a lot of different settings to play with visual effects and scale.
The moment the game truly got me was at a boss fight against wasps, wherein a group of wasps formed to mimic the shape of a WW2 bomber(with accompanying sound FX) and dropped wasp bombs with those wasps being the impact shockwaves for the players to dodge/jump over.

The concept is goofy and vibrant, and the game knows this very well; embodied by the sentient book of love. However the core narrative is serious and introspective. With the story, you'll feel all kinds of emotions; joy, laughter, hope, glee, self-loathing, cringe and sadness. As the story progresses, you get attached to the characters and understand their struggles and their differences; and see them turn their differences into co-operation and reinforcement.

With the friend's pass being free, only one player needs the game for the other to join in. This game is no-brainer to recommend, it's one of the greatest games I've played in a while.

Having played this game over multiple sessions with multiple people, I can safely say that I recommend this game to anyone who likes exploration, resource-gathering, building and more. It's fun on your own but I absolutely recommend playing it with a friend, loved one or relative. The game is fairly simple in it's basics and only requires a few hours to fully grasp; allowing for anyone to pick it up and play. It's akin to Minecraft in basic functionality but that's where it the comparison about ends. Terraria is a side-scrolling pixel-game in which you are plopped into a world and left to your own devices, as you find new stuff and get better gear to survive, the game introduces new elements to keep it engaged and challenging. But at any point, you can take a step back and spend hours building your own structures to populate the world. Once you're ready, the game will be waiting for you to continue to explore it's many features. Every world is filled with resources, loot chests, enemies, unique biomes and blocks for you to weaponize and use. You'll explore forests, deserts, pyramids, temples, jungles, hell - each with their own challenges and rewards. The game uses unique monsters called 'bosses' as essential milestones in your progress, since each drops unique items to craft new powerful gear with. There's a central crafting system in the game that allows you to craft new powerful weapons and tools, or combine existing ones in a more powerful ones. There's a lot of depth for those who are interested, but it's not essential to figure out to just enjoy the game in it's own merit. There's a lot to cover and figure out, but none are truly essential to play the game, you can delve into it as deep as you'd want but it's perfectly fine and enjoyable to keep it simple.

If you like any of these aspects; exploration, playing with friends, mix/max'ing stats, building great structures, gathering all resources/collecting all items in a neat organizing system, creating elaborate traps or underground bunkers, defeating challenging bosses or survive wave-based events. If any of these, or multiple perhaps, sound interesting I'd recommend to give this a try.

Spectacular game with a great premise, with a lot of potential to be added and expanded down the road. The game is rightfully compared to Phasmaphobia as it shares the same basic principles(gathering evidence, for example) but adds a whole lot more to it in terms of exploration, world-building, lore, puzzles, traps and dangers. Every ghost(Mejai) functions and behaves uniquely different and every map is procedural, no one session is the same. There are a multitude of varying maps to be selected with different tomb styles and props, including small, medium and large map sizes. Within them are treasures and currency which can be collected to purchase upgrades for your tools.
Highly recommend playing with friends. Other then team dynamic and hearing your friends voice have crazy reverb in the tombs, the game permits this 'Blessing of Osiris' option allowing your friends to return as either a friendly or hostile mummy and still influence the session after death.
There's a lot to it, after playing this, causing Phasmaphobia to feel dull in comparison.

Little story to maybe sell you on further;
During recovery of the main artifact, triggering the ghost to physically manifest, we had a Mejai that is instantly hostile/triggered by any form of light. Disposing of conventional light sources, me and gf wanted to wander the tomb is complete darkness apart by using a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ night-vision tablet, with only hearing the rattling of chains to indicate the presence of the ghost. Prior, I dropped my flashlight facing to the direction of the inner tomb room. With no lights other than this flashlight laying down 2 rooms away, we only saw a silhouette of the mangled Mejai looming at us from a distance. We proceeded to bicker what was the best option until I just spearheaded towards the ghost, who teleported infrequently allowing us to move into the tomb, to find a newly-spawned lever to escape the dark horror.
