Styx is a very well made stealth game; on the highest difficulty you aren't even allowed to fight back once you've alerted guards and they're close enough to attack you. The open combat system on lower difficulties is designed to make you weak in open confrontation with multiple enemies to encourage stealth play, which is one of my favorite aspects of the game.

The only major issue I encountered was this:

There is a game breaking bug that is somewhat rare, but can leave you stuck in your little goblin base after re-playing a mission without being able to start the next one. The real issue is with the game's quick save system; it's very convenient. Too convenient, because you might start using it exclusively like I did, and then you can get auto saved into a bugged game and lose all your progress. What you need to do is remember to hard save often, most importantly towards the end of every re-played mission. Or just don't re-play anything, that works too. I did to get all the skill points. Anyway, after losing my original game in December, I started a new one in April after my saltiness subsided. I did get the bug 1 time while re-playing, after mission 4, and just reloaded the hard saved I'd made a few minutes before and everything was fine.

This game is a lot like defense grid, defense grid is a good game, therefore this is a good game. They just made it a bit more difficult than defense grid. Don't give the game a bad review just because you're bad at it.
