Note that when tests are not being run the client will often load frozen at a black screen and need to be task-killed to exit. This appears to be intended behavior.

Keep in mind that this is a tech demo for what is primarily server-side tech you don't directly see. The client is just a means to test that side of things and use events to generate natural load for those tests. With that in mind, the listed requirements are wildly unreasonably high but many people have had success running it on substantially out-of-spec systems. It runs on Proton (Steam's Linux support framework) just fine in many cases, and up until 5-10 minutes into the record attempt it had consistently worked for Windows 7 users as well (after which the client froze instead of connecting).

Controls and interactions take some time to get used to, but it's very cool to see EVE's models and environments rendered in another engine. Tests were typically pretty enjoyable once I got my bearings.

Well, it was good, the first F2P-with-a-shop FPS I've seen that felt significantly worth playing. It had its' flaws, but given that it wasn't in a release state they were forgivable, until decisions were made that went so far off the deep end the community lost its' mind. RIP :(

Still the most tactical FPS game I've ever played. It doesn't have jump, but if you feel you need to jump in Raven Shield, most times you're doing it wrong. The Super-Elite AI mod and massive custom maps make even limited AI of 2003 a force to be reckoned with for anything less than 4-5 players with voice communication, and it's still a challenge then. The community has thinned out over time but with friends this will always be a classic.
