Good Metroidvania with some flaws, e.g. poor dialogues, weak UI, no manual/help, and could be confusing in some sections. At first I thought this is a metroidvania without map system because there is no map button in settings menu, then I pressed the TAB in game and map appeared. I know this is an indie game which seems developed by a small team but writing a basic manual or having a FAQ thread on community hub is not a big deal. Also if there will be a sequel, then it needs a better level up system. While increasing your Critical Damage (+4), HP and MP are very helpful (+20), upgrading the others feel lame in my opinion. But the good thing is it seems there is no level cap in this game.

If you like Metroidvanias and 2D side-scrolling gameplay, then add to Metamorfose S. This game has a Igavania (Castlevania Symphony of the Night-style) vibe.

100% completion in 10-20 hours. Could be hard for some players but its difficulty is fair. All achievements work like a charm.

• No broken achievements

• Weak replayability because of its short lenght and lacking new game plus or a challenging hard mode
• Loot drops are not good and you may spend most of your playtime for gold farming. Because all good items are in shop.
• Leaderboards only count the save with the highest scores. It makes the game repetitive and boring when you finish it. Because it forces you to play your finished game rather than starting a new game.

Verdict
• It's OK. As you see the reviews, many players like it. Try it!
• 100% completion is easy.
• Buy it when it's on sale.

Short and casual metroidvania. Or a platformer with metroidvania elements. You can get 100% completion in one playthrough. OK for its price.

Good game with nice soundtrack. Can't wait for SHDX!

Sometimes it feels good to play as an evil character. Pick EvilQuest if you want to be the bad guy in a video game.

If you like 8-bit era, then you should try Alien Splatter Redux.

Pros

• Exploring the map and finding all areas are rewarding because you find items and upgrades which are useful.
• Challenging hard difficulty
• Nice soundtrack
• The developer care for the game and try to improve it.

• Some puzzles could be confusing and you may spend too much time for solving them.
• While the story is interesting, some NPC dialogues feel lame.

Verdict
• Recommended. I suggest to play this game on easy or normal difficulty for your first playthrough. Save hard mode for your second playthrough.
