If you don't want to admit it's the best motocross simulation out there, you can at least concede it's the closest we'll get to a three dimensional cross-over of Trials HD and QWOP.

It's less of a game than it is a physics toy box. There are some rudimentary tracks and bikes available, but the community more than makes up for it as well as the lack of offline bot opponents. The bike packs at mxb-mods.com are a must for online play.

I've recently, at just over 90 hours, tried MX Bikes on a WMR headset and it is an amazing experience as of February 2024. Yes, a keyboard and mouse is necessary through all of the flat menus and gameplay is performed with the same ol' XB1S controller, but the immersion is deliriously fun. Tweaking the POV pitch and tilt to around half really encourages a naturalistic head turn into turns and up or down hills. It's such an improvement to situational awareness that it is simply the way this physics toy is to be experienced.

This is everything you could ever have wanted in a 16-bit Sonic title. It's great that Sega recruited true fans of the series to develop this absolute gem of a game.
