Early Access Review
this game is an absolute fething clusterfrak of gak. even when in full premade group of 4 maze runners, 4 times out of 5 it's going to phallicaly block you in one way or another (or in several, 'cause why the hell not). contains an ungodly amount of bad and needless rng, with devs not even focusing on actual issues.

there are plenty of easy, quick and/or dirty possible fixes for many, if not all, issues. but no, let's add needless anti-cheat measures for pve coop (which (the coop part) is basically required as your chance for nice gaming time is reduced to abysmal numbers if not in fully active party, unless Lady Luck is gazing and drooling all over you, or you cheat (or you enjoy that type of heresy a bit too much)) game, and the anti-cheat is worthless anyway 'cause you can still find plenty of them around. getting into details about the issues would be a whole chapter in and of itself (monster(s) issues, map(s) issues, etc(s) issues...).

one map can take you anywhere from few minutes to several hours (and hundredths of deaths/respawns (restarts)). why? 'cause apparently its a new Oxford Dictionary's definition of fun. i wonder tho, what is so fun about being stuck in one incredibly long (by virtue of travel time through it into actual maze part) "entrance" that doesn't have safezone, with all of the monsters camping you there for dozens of minutes before allowing you one chance to get someone out to try and solve whats necessary. not to mention the monster combinations that can (and will) make it impossible for you to escape once you're inevitably found out of reach from safezone. and if it's a guaranteed cosmetic map, congrats! it's 99.99999% chance of a duplicate that everyone in your party (or at least you) already has, and have seen it at least a dozen times. beats me. trully. maybe if you're a masochist (with equally masochistic friends) with enough spare time (and energy) on your hands to outlive the Sol.

but it can get fun. when the stars align and you're not jerked around from the get go. when you have a nice chill premade to chat and maze-run. when you have have someone to make (cute) noises when spooked/scared. when you finally find a cosmetic at least someone is missing... when... and if...

but it has potential, and fairly active dev team, even tho they do not (imo) focus properly. and thats more that you can say about most (semi-)modern games. oh, and the story (so far) is promising too.

Forget the promise of warmth and safety, for in the grim darkness of the Northern Canadian Wilderness there is only endless winter. Forget about the power, technology and science; for so much has been forgotten, lost or broken; never to be re-learned, found or repaired. To be in such times is to be one against the Mother Nature herself, and her loyal helpers and minions - both tangible and intangible. It is to live in the cruelest and coldest moments imaginable. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of trying to survive another day, the laughter of hungry wolves, and howling of bone-chilling blizzards. The Mother Nature wants to reclaim her Earth back, how long will you resist? These will be the tales of those times...

Good and fun game, rts with rpg elements, with campaign perma-death, somewhat high(-er) difficulty in some missions (sometimes there is a trick to them), lovable characters and their quips and quirks (depends really on dubbing-subbing and your knowledge of languages (i find original, czech, the best (since i found some errors in english dub))), and some of the choices you make, will carry over through the story.

There are some good mods (which adds or changes campaign(s), or adds solo maps), which also adds to the playtime. There is also an editor added to the game folder, with which you can create your own mod, or use it to edit your campaign and make it fun, or crazy. (When your hero with almost 4 times the speed of the fastest car just waltz into enemy base, shrugging their personel guns and gatling gun turrets fire like its warm summer rain, and cannon and rocket fire like its just fireworks show few blocks outside your house, and starts to dismantle or capture their base under their noses (depending on the size of the base and number of guards and turrets, there might be a short trip, or a few, to the doctor added to the list), ... good times...

I wholehartedly recomend this game (and a gem), it is amongs my favourite (and most favoured) games of all times. Even when not on sale, under 5 euros for what can be over a hundred hours of fun?
