Before I start, let me make it clear upfront that I know one of the developers. Opinions are my own, and I wasn't asked to write this review, and I bought my own copy.

This isn't the type of game I usually play, however I wanted to give it a go as the scope of the game and the price meant that I wouldn't be too upset if it's something I bounced off of. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I did enjoy my time with it!

The game's stages are split into very manageable groups that made it easy to just pop in with the intention of unlocking the next set of levels and then leaving it there for another day. Though you can easily complete the game in one extended play session. Each stage (and inevitable stage restart) just drops you straight in from the start so you can just get going without much in the way of a wait.

The challenge of the game comes from the titular stacking and although the controls for manipulating the blocks took me a little getting used to, I did pick them up quite quickly and after a few levels was no issue whatsoever (I played using a controller, I did not spend anytime in-game with keyboard and mouse controls).

Things can go wrong and your best laid plans can crumble under the weight of overambitious constructions, but when they do I was pleased to discover that it didn't feel frustrating or unfair which was one of my honest expectations and trepidations going into this. As I mentioned previously you can jump straight back into your next attempt in seconds - making each failure feel more like slapstick chaos than the game being cruel. There was a decent mix of challenge in the game. Some stages were straightforward whilst others felt really quite tough but with a bit of trial-and-error you soon figure out a solution that works for you (and many of these puzzles can be solved in multiple ways I've learned).

Overall, the game was a pleasant time and kept me busy for a several hours for to get through each stage. It didn't outstay it's welcome and is a really solid little puzzle-platformer with a really fun artstyle and sense of humour.
