I really REALLY want to like this game but I can't even complete a single match before it crashes so hard task manager is the only way to close it.

firstly, my playtime is a bit exaggerated. I left it open for a couple days on accident so I don't know exactly how many hours I've put in. I am level 32 for reference.

ANYWAY the short of it is I love this game. It's stupid funny jelly bean guy royale.

The $20 is a solid price, though the microtransactions are plentiful but also very fairly priced. The best stuff is reserved for people who earn crowns anyways and either way you can earn plenty of Kudos to buy the specific stuff you want, as long as you aren't a hoarder. There is also the leveling system which is comparable to a "battle/season pass" from games like Rocket League or Apex. At least for the first season this was free and includes some of the best outfits in the game.

The graphics are great and super cutesy. My only complaint in that regard would be the lack of variety but that looks like it'll change with each season anyways. Not a huge fan of every outfit but the sky is the limit for the jelly bean canvas and everyone can find a pattern, colors, and fit they'll like easy. The crown outfits are so amazing but I need to get better before I can get many...

Speaking of, I have amassed a total of 6 or 7 wins, most of which have been in my last couple play sessions. It can take a while to get your first but once you do it gets easier and easier. Even just getting to the final can have you gifted with an RNG crown. I've been playing strictly solo so haven't had the benefit of playing with good friends for the team games.

For negatives, there's definitely a few. Biggest issue that I hope is addressed is hacking. Seems like 1/4-1/3 of every game I'm in has a very obvious hacker. Super speed and flying are the usual ones, hopefully addressed soon with better reporting tools too. Some of the games are awful and frustrating as well, any version of tail tag being the worst offenders. And the funky physics add a lot of fun but you never know when your ankles will just buckle from a small jump.

The "pace" of the content feels great for me as well. I know people who grind it all the time are getting bored, but it's been a great game to hop on for a few matches or a few hours depending on mood. I will hit level 40 pretty easily before the next season and it feels great to actually finish one of "passes" that I always come up short on due to time or interest.

I am excited for the future of this great game. The faults are small and there's more than enough content and enjoyment for the low cost. BUY IT!
