Signalis is an homage to old school survival horror games i.e Silent Hill or Resi Evil. If you're a fan of those types of games; i'd call Signalis a must play. I've read some criticisms about the game play being too punishing in regards to inventory/resource management, but that really is fundamental to the genre. In Signalis you will have to use ammo sparingly and judge when and where to use core resources. The game won't hold your hand, it's up to you to make those tactical decisions.

Game play aside, Signalis has an amazing aesthetic. Clearly deriving inspiration from Blade Runner and other 80s sci-fi. The games greatest strength imo is the narrative, it's got an interesting story to tell. As a word of warning however, where Resi Evil and other games in this genre tend to get pretty light hearted and wacky as the game goes on, Signalis goes the opposite direction and gets pretty dark. That's really my only reservation on recommending Signalis, if you have a low tolerance for depressing storylines, you might want to give this one a pass...
