I understand peoples concerns with the optimisation of this game, multiple of the settings can be detrimental to the performance of your game. The first real issue for me when it came to performance was the gas station explosion within the opening hour with Sarah where my FPS dropped about 20 when the explosion occurred and continued with the following fire.

However, people need to tweak their settings to find what works for them! Personally my PC has a RTX 2070 Super and a AMD Ryzen 7 3700X with 16gb of RAM. No means a top of the line computer for 2023. With the recommended settings provided by NVIDIA this game performed poorly especially in certain lighting scenarios. But with some playing around with the settings I was still able to run the game a consistent 55-65 FPS on mostly high settings (baring a few settings that where either turned off or on a low setting due to my personal preference of performance > tiny details [Mostly tiny shading on every small object on the floor]). *DISCLAIMER* I purchased this game on April 1, 2023 after I noticed that the reviews on steam had increased from ~33% to 45%, so I took a risk expecting that there had been some hotfix to patch many of the initial few days problems. In saying that my game only crashed a single time throughout the main story. And understandingly so because I alt + tab during a very graphically intense portion of the game.

Once you get passed finding the right settings for your setup this game is stunningly beautiful when it comes to visuals and an equally beautiful story that must of us already know and love.

Closing remarks: If you have a computer equal to or above the recommended system requirements and are willing to play around with some settings to tweak the game to perform/look the way you want I would without a doubt recommend this game! I played the main story over a weekend and the amount of nostalgia from the original game in 2013 was insane, along with being able to recognise and appreciate the differences and similarities to the new HBO show and how both have uniquely beautiful storytelling.
