If you like Tarkov you'll probably like this. If you don't like Tarkov but you like the *idea* of Tarkov or something like it you'll probably like this.

This game is still really early and rough around the edges, particularly in terms of performance and server stability, but in my 40+ hours it's been always playable (but occasionally bordering on not, especially when first logging into a server!) and I've had a ton of fun both in PVE and PVP.

Performance-wise I'm running a 2080ti and after turning shadows and foliage to low it runs at a pretty stable 90+ fps with occasional hitching. Honestly performance isn't a problem, I just really dislike the AI detail enhancement because things shimmer or blur in a way that I don't like. Especially if a bush brushes across your screen everything becomes fuzzy like you just pressed your thumbs into your eyes and it takes a sec for the upscaling to catch up.

I've seen a lot of people complaining about super terminator bots, and at least for me in the tier 1 and 2 areas they feel really manageable. I think the bosses are up-tiered and explain why I occasionally get deleted in a way that doesn't match the other bots' behavior. In the higher tier areas I expect to be unfairly deleted but we'll see. Even the lowest level bots cannot be ignored but are somewhere between easily and moderately difficultly dealt with. There does seem to be some minor hit registration issues, but it might be exacerbated by the fact that armor/bullet types can sometimes interact in un-intuitive ways that don't really give feedback to what happened/went wrong. Notably, a lot of people seem to also be complaining about how entire weapon platforms are un-usably bad, but I seem to be able to use them all just fine, and get kills about as easily with any of them using the ammunition I know should be effective. (This knowledge comes from Tarkov mostly and to a lesser extent RL knowledge.)

Almost everything in the last paragraph that is "broken" I think is more "working as intended but designed in a potentially frustrating way". Hopefully the design direction helps address the conveyance and design. That said, I'm tired of writing this review and I'm going to play some more.

This is a great game that can easily be enjoyed as a quick little bit of fun as well as for longer deeper exploration of the combos and synergies that the game has to offer.

I wouldn't have initially thought so, but the mechanics of how you organize items in your backpack and the way they interact with each other goes a VERY long way towards breaking away from the typical mindless gambling simulator that auto battlers often are--your problem solving and creativity will be the difference in your success FAR more often than simple RNG.

I played the demo alone for maybe another 20 hours on top of the dozen or so I've played launch--they did a great job adjusting content that needed to be adjusted as well as more than tripling the amount of content that was in the demo.

This game is a hop and a skip away from being an amazing game. If it had better translations it would be a lot better. If you take some time to learn how things work its an absolute ton of fun to figure out ways to combine abilities to best kill enemies.

A very fast paced VR shooter with smooth mechanics and active developers who seem to have a pretty good vision of what they want to create. As long as you're into competitive shooters you can't go wrong with this one!

This game is what inspired me to get into roomscale VR and I've played it more than any other VR title combined. It's very immersive and fun to play, but the game itself is very competitive and the community can often be...unwelcoming. I strongly recommend you try some of the single player modes to get generally familiar with maps and how to use your equipment because in a public lobby you will not have time to learn how to reload before you're dead and waiting 6 minutes to play the next round.

I'm only two to three hours in, but I feel like I don't really want to go on--it's taken this long to even get within sight of any meaningful gameplay change.

The game starts with you managing 4 prep stations (which sometimes get bogged down with chores) to prepare food. Yes over the course of the beginning of the game you acquire money to buy new foods to put on the menu, and upgrade those foods, but a lot of the content is gated behind how many stars your restaurant is--you start with zero stars, and you have to go through 20 days to even get to being a two star restaurant (in addition to a bunch of other things that you'd have to be really bad to not have done by day 20). I believe I satisfied all of the other requirements within 8-10 days (around the first hour and a half-ish), and the past ~7 days have all just been the same thing waiting to unlock the next star.

The game is neat, and I've enjoyed it, but if this is the pace the rest of the game is going to have I'm not going to be playing much longer. As of right now I'm not even sure I'm going to come back to play out the next three days. I half expect a hard requirement of 50 more to reach two stars.

If the trailer, which accurately represents the game, looks like fun to you, the game is most certainly worth a couple bucks to take a look. It seems to have a lot of other modes and whatnot that I'm not terribly interested in but might be good for a go (co-op looks possibly interesting), just be warned of the hard cap on pacing in story mode--it may make you lose interest before you fully get a chance to enjoy the game.

This game is basically unplayable. The interface is buggy and locked to non-widescreen tiny resolutions, and the way the game plays does not feel very well thought out.
