When I read this part, I was immediately transported into some old hallway with only James' footsteps clomping solemnly along - then the suspense as he opens a creaky door - the sudden, loudly groaning music heralding some unpleasantness, the moment of prickly fear and excitement. It's a great observation, and I hadn't thought about this in so so long.

Also, yes sh2r is its own thing. I dislike that people think it is the original but better.
Then again the SH community was either praying for a new actual good SH game or no game at all out of fear for a new trash.
