The difficulty is great. If you mindlessly rush through the areas without thinking about what you are doing, you will be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ by the time you get to the boss - at the latest. Nothing feels particularly unfair, though.

I love Dark Souls. I really disliked the fact that in PoE 1, nothing really mattered and you could largely play through the game on autopilot while watching a movie. This ultimately led to me never finishing the campaign, even though I started it several times.

I understand that there are a lot of reasons/excuses for not wanting to be challenged. I just hope the developers stick to this version and don't make the dull gameplay of the first game the 'default'.

As a compromise, they could perhaps include an 'easy' mode as an accessibility option for the campaign for people with disabilities or those who can't otherwise play the game.
