Sounds like Gearbox ♥♥♥♥♥♥ the base game with bugs. Oof.

It brings the weapon wheel back, adds more exploration, and more backtracking, all aspects that Bioshock Infinite itself lacked.

The story really doesn't go anywhere, and it kinda just sets up for Episode 2, which is a bit of a mess.

It's the best gameplay you are going to get out of Bioshock Infinite, IMO. Just get ready to be disappointed by Episode 2's conclusion.

I enjoyed the gameplay a lot, especially on 1999 mode, but GOD was that story horrible.

Not only is it completely contradictory to so many of the events of Bioshock 1 and 2, but its trying to give an emotional resolution to the silent protagonist of the 1st game, as if ANYONE who is playing through Bioshock Infinite, Burial at Sea Episode 1, or Burial at Sea Episode 2 cares remotely about anyone but Elizabeth by the end of it.

And poor Elizabeth, dying just to be shoehorned into a plot that barely concerns her, and gives her story no satisfying closure, all for a cheap connection back to the first game.

Similar to Bioshock Infinite, I enjoyed myself up until the end. And then became extremely disappointed.

The best Bioshock, by far. I love games that give a ton of creative tools and builds to players, letting you go as deep or shallow as you want into the games mechanics.

It reminds me a lot of Dark Souls 2. Is it the most mind blowing thing ever? No. Is it the most original? No.

But it's a damn good game that has so much variety and freedom in how you play.

I'm glad I revisited this game after nearly 10 years, because despite all the post launch criticism Bioshock Infinite got, it is still a good game over all.

The story doesn't know what its aiming for, it compares Daisy Fitzroy (violent freedom fighter) to Comstock (racist dictator) which is insane, and the ending is truly nonsense, but there is still a lot of great dialogue, acting, art, and game design to appreciate.

It is a solid 7/10. Elizabeth carries the game hard.

Also go a full Vigor build, don't upgrade guns. And don't waste any money on the Carbine or Burstgun, they suck.

Incredible game. There are over 500,000 other positive reviews, no words needed.

But uh, Act 3 gets kinda ehhhh. That's it.

This game is fantastic, but what you need to understand is that it requires a LOT of practice to get really good at the game, the amount of cool maneuvers and skips you can pull off is amazing, but you will likely make a lot of mistakes.

Lots of people are coming in here with 1-2 hour playtimes getting pissed at the controls, and it reminds me of the Sonic Adventure games, where the controls feel bad on your initial playthrough, but the more you practice and get better the more you learn the control scheme and can do some crazy jumps you never would have been able to pull off in your first hour or two.

The one thing I will fully agree with is that the Yo-Yo ride move feels sluggish at points, like your initial turning rate is bad but gets better after a few seconds. There are do or die sections which rely on this move and it can still feel awkward after 10+ hours.

As far as bugs / crashes go I haven't experienced a single issue, it has been a totally smooth 144hz experience with no hiccups or anything. It might be an AMD graphics issue? I run on Nvidia and its been smooth for me, so maybe do some research if you have an AMD card.

The game could definitely use a bug fixing and minor tuning patch, but if you are the kind of person who loves in depth movement in platformers, are feverishly looking for a new game, and can laugh off some mistakes instead of blaming the game, Penny's Big Breakaway is definetly for you.

It's a great game that is capable of so much more, but left me satisfied for the price of admission.

Tightening up some of the level design, adding more moves / traversal options, and expanding into more varied level themes is what I would love to see in a sequel / part 2.

Playable Alexis or riot.

This is better than the original Seperate Ways, which is to be expected. A lot of content was taken from cut sections of the original Resident Evil 4, and they are all done a little worse. Which pretty much describes Resident Evil 4 Remake in general;

"It's like the original, but not as good. It's still good though."

There are still good reasons to go back to the original, but as a long time fan of Dead Space... this has pretty much supplanted the original.
