@FluffyQuack: Thanks! Knowing you loaded it in-game rather than out means I was right in my findings that there wasn't yet a way to extract SBC files. I was about to tear out my hair trying to solve that conundrum, lol.

yeah still not coming up, I am thinking it is an Origin thing, we on the origin side have been having problems with mods

Try placing the "BuildingGap" folder in "My Documents\CnCRemastered\Mods\Tiberian_Dawn"

That hopefully works. But as I said, I'm not sure how you install mods with Origin version of CNC.

@Awmuth: I found a method for loading any arbitrary stage. I can't remember if I accomplished that via file editing or memory editing.

Hey dude - had some quick questions for you about your ARCtool. I know you aren't supporting it, not asking for anything but info. Namely, how you derived that Stage 400-et-al in Dragon's Dogma are Bitterblack Isle-related. I've gotten the SBC files but I've hit a stopping block extracting/analyzing them so I'm trying other avenues now and was hoping you might be able to point me in the right direction with whatever data you found that gave that away. Thanks!

I believe he hasn't posted his .tex tool yet, so you may want to contact them about it, that's what had to do.

Oh yeah, I've talked with him before about modding stuffs. I think he has his modding tools all opensource, so I can check that to see how he parses that TEX file.

That's good to hear. If you're able, you could forward the specifications for that TEX variant to me. Maybe I can quickly update arctool to support that format if I know exactly what it's supposed to be.

@gamesrule1124: That definitely looks like corrupt data. There were TEX formats I was never able to add support for. I assume this is one of those.

Fair enough, though I'd be really appreciative if you'd take a look! I'd love to make the cubemaps more complex than just some white shine on metal with faint color mixed in. Hey man, it's been a little while. I was wondering if when you had a spare moment, if you would be willing to look at something for me. I think I found Dragon's Dogma Cubemaps, but the ArcTool seems to unpack them improperly as a blur of incomprehensible colors. I don't think it's meant to be that way, but I could be wrong. Unpacking and repacking whether edits are made are not also causes the game to be unable to startup. Would sending a picture of the messed up image help?

If you want to see for yourself, one of them is easy to find, it's in nativePC\system\texture, and the file in question is called DefaultCube_CM.tex. Remember when we discussed the .rtex format? I wonder, since Capcom has weird naming patterns, if that stands for "Reference texture", referring to the Default Cubemap.

@FraJos: I can't remember what file that is defined in. I suggest asking people who are more up-to-date with DD modding. If you go back a page or two in this comment section, you should find a link to a DD modding discord. People there should be able to answer.

@Blaze: Hmm, unfortunately, I'm out of ideas. You could check out Razor's Ultimate RE6 trainer and see if that has a function for increasing Mercenaries lobby sizes or something similar.

@Blaze: Sorry, but it's unlikely I'll remake the trainer for the latest version. It would involve a lot of work as the trainer is huge and I don't have good notes for re-finding a lot of the stuff I found many years ago.

I remember you saying in a forum post that it'd be too much work. Which if thats true, is unfortunate, cause I'd Really like for it to work with the latest version. Someone on YT got it to work with the latest version, but it doesn't really work for me, unfortunately. And steam doesn't seem to allow downgrading, anymore

I just had a question. Do you plan to update your trainer to work with the latest RE6? My friends and I would love to do more then 2 player Mercenaries, but the current version of your trainer only supports 1.0.6, and as far as I know, me and my friends would have to re-install the game to the 1.0.6 version for the trainer to work. I was just wondering if you had any plans on updating it at all to work with the latest version, Thanks!

Hey, Fluffy. I just wanted to thank you for making the Resident Evil 2 Mod Manager and helpful video for how to install them. I was trying for about half an hour why two of my mods won't work.

I stumbled upon your video, and did what you said: Made two additional folder inside the Mod folder.

Well, I've been trying to get ahead of them for a while now, but they don't seem to want to answer me. Thanks for the tip anyway though. We're still trying to figure things out. If we could just figure out how to access what we believe to be the shader packages and the cubemaps, I think we could do a lot for the game.

I don't remember. The tool was created about 7 years old, so maybe the original download link died and it was never re-uploaded, but surely someone still has it. I can try to dig through old files and let you know if I find it.

Thanks for the reply. I hadn't thought of changing .rtex to .tex. I did it and it changed but Arctool told me it was an Invalid TEX file. Damn.

I found Wilsonso's shader mod and it does indeed affect the proper files, .spkg, but I can't find the actual tool for doing so itself. Any idea where I might find it? I checked the residentevilmoddingboards but didn't see it.

I can remember looking into rtex files but I don't remember converting any of them, so it's probably not trivial. I assume you've already tried this (and I assume it won't work), but you could try renaming it to .tex and see what arctool does.

When you say shader parameters, do you mean the shaders themselves? There are shader package files (I think they're in a directory called SA) and there are different shader packages for different areas. Wilsonso made a tool for extracting and repacking shader packages for Resident Evil 6. That tool probably works for Dragon's Dogma too.

Hello again, how've you been? I have another question for you whenever you get the chance. Do you happen to have any idea what .rtex is and how to unpack it? I've been working with Dragon's Dogma textures still and while looking into it with someone we found what might be cubemap, but it doesn't seem to be stored the same was as other textures.

The tool should still work just fine. The only things which could break it is a patch for DD changing the save format (VERY unlikely) or a new Windows version breaking compatibility (unlikely to happen as well).

The only thing is that I have no idea if it works with saves from Xbox One, PS4, and Switch ports. But I don't have a way to get DD save files from any of those versions, so it's not something I can work on anyway.
