EDIT 01/12/23: CAPCOM loves to squeeze every single penny out of their playerbase. I have no idea why they would try this "Fortnite" kind of model where you can only buy currency in a set amount and will always be missing the few you need so you overbuy. This is some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

SF6 set the standard of what a modern fighting game should be.

Street Fighter is back to reclaim its throne as the OG Fighting Game once again with this latest entry. It has every single feature you would expect and all of these just work: Fun single player content, Online lobbies, private lobbies, online training, mini-games, retro classics, approachable tutorials, character guides, character trials, arcade mode, team battles... it's all here. The game is divided into 3 separate modes:

- World Tour: Create your character and travel the world searching for strength as you come up with your own meaning for being strong. Dress your character in different stat-boosting clothes and create your own moveset from the moves of the legendary fighters you find across the globe. If you've been a fan for a long time, there are so many references to other capcom games as well as to other games in the series which will easily put a wide smile on your face. Not just that, but getting to know each character on a deeper level does deepen the connections we have to these characters. I used to like Ryu before but now I love him. His way of thinking and his values really left an impression on me. Sounds silly but it's changed my way of seeing things. Ryu as an old Oji-san kind of character is so fitting.

- Battle Hub: Play against people for hours, participate in tournaments, play retro classics, have some fun in the extreme battle cabinets, use your custom character to fight the spawns of hell created by other players in Avatar Battles or just hang around and have deep, insightful, eye-opening, paradigm-shifting conversations with strangers about which character's feet would stink the best. (we all know its Juri). Unlike GGST, these lobbies actually ♥♥♥♥♥ work and its a joy to use. No matter which platform you choose, you can play against all people from all over the world.

-Fighting Ground: If you are new to the game or a seasoned veteran, then this is the place for you. You can watch the tutorials or character guides and try your hand at character trials which will help you learn the mechanics of the game. Once you are ready, you can queue for a casual or ranked match and put your skill to the test in some of the best netcode ever created. Just don't accept any of those filthy WiFi players and you'll be A-OK.

Overflowing with attitude and charm, SF6 has just set the bar for modern fighting games. Packed to the brim with features and modes, this will be the game other developers will have to measure up to before releasing a new fighting game. The fact the game came out with crossplay, superb netcode and working lobbies out of the gate in a world where games are broken on release is very refreshing. Feels great being a fighting game fan.

CAPCOM has shown their amazing support for the game by patching game-breaking bugs almost immediately after being discovered and adding a bunch of quality of life changes in a very short amount of time. While other devs wait MONTHS to fix stuff, CAPCOM says nah bro and fixes it asap. I just hope we get more costumes tbh.

"SF6 set the standard of what a modern fighting game should be." very much so. Amazing graphics, memorable character designs, good music, but most important of all - a tutorial mode that doesn't suck major ass, for the first time in fighting game history.
I really can't see a KOF16 or Tekken 9 coming out and replicating its success if they don't try HARD.

the only dev who won't need to change anything is trash realm studios since normies eat up literally anything they shit out
