Hollow Knight is the best game of 2017 in my opinion and the main arguments for this is the multiple factors.
First, it is the main character. He can not speak, but it does not make him worse. His silence explains later by the lore of the game and I think that the Hollow Knight is the Gordon Freeman of present days.
Second, it is the rich and deep world with lots of cool moments. Every single frindly NPC in this game is unique. Almost every one of them has his/her own background, his/her little story, every meeting with them is funny and that's cool.
Third is the lore of the game and the main story. When the game starts, we are ask ourselves the questions like: "Who am I? Where am I? What am I doing here?" It has the deep story that's intertwined with the lore of the game.
So the game has lots of advantages like fighting system, and incredible soundtracks, but you need to hear, see and play it by yourself and the game costs its money
