As a Turkish person, I've never seen a black person until last year and I have no idea of the word's scale.

It basically has zero meaning for me, and it was also a really popular word in my highschool.

Most of time we didn't mean harm, it was just a "funny word that makes Americans furious" for us.

I personally stopped last year, when I actually saw a black person irl. (Don't worry I wasn't like "Oh, wow, a real black person.", I was more like "Oh, a black person. That's new.")
