Essentially a more complicated and stripped down version of Bigscreen that you have to pay for. The only benefit this app has over Bigscreen is Workshop support, but even then there's not a lot of stuff currently on the Workshop, and even then most of the environments on Workshop can mess with computers that run the stock environments totally fine. It basically makes the recommended specs useless to consider, even though the recommended specs are VERY low for today's VR landscape.

Save your $15 and use it somewhere else. This is seriously not worth any money.

For a $10 VR game, this isn't that bad! As a rhythm game, this is insanely fun, but if you're looking for a game or an experience where you go behind a drum kit and can play whatever you want (like free drumming) don't bother. This is a great game ONLY if you deal with the rhythm game aspect of it.

However, focusing on the rhythm game aspect is very weak. The fan base is lacking, so that means a lack of user generated content. Trust me, there's one review here that just says "dead game" and they're not exactly wrong, at least in terms of fan support. Customs are a blessing for this game, it allows for more content out of this game and it's even supported by the devs right out of the gate (Although the notes they give you are very limited and actually wrong with the cymbal placement). It's very hard to recommend this game purely because of the lack of user generated content, but as someone who can chart rhythm games and put songs into the game (and trust me, with how fun this game is, I will) I can get behind it.

All I can say is that it doesn't deserve the mixed review is has right now, but I can understand why it does.

Instant recommendation because one of my songs appears on the main setlist

Legit though, fun to play game.

Engine wise, I would compare this the most to Guitar Hero 2 if it was a cleaner engine. It's not as loose as Clone Hero, so don't expect to hit everything you do on that game. My biggest gripe about the engine is the fact that lanes still do not work that great.

Multiplayer works really well. Long gone are the days of having to port forward your computer just to play Phase Shift online, as everything is done through Steam! Hoorah! Picking songs actually works really well, as it grays out any songs that not everyone has, so you don't have to pick and choose just to see if everyone in the lobby has the song downloaded.

Overall, great game right now, but there are still some things that are to be improved that have been problems since the beginning.

(No comment on the .chart issue since I don't play Clone Hero)
