First you need to update the addon and install xom3d_calculate_z_offset.py

After you load the worm mesh, press the space bar and execute the "XOM3D Calculate Z Offset" command. It is important that the armature is active at the moment.

For best results, I am thinking of updating the addon for Blender 2.8. Stable updates will be available on my github.

The game somehow overlaps such textures. Unfortunately, I don't know a good way to fix this via addon. I will try to write a helper script to solve this issue.
