Dark Souls, but harder and with elevator music

Everything about this game massively sparks my senses in the nostalgia department, I love it! The art style screams award winning late 1990's to early 2000's anime with it's fluid animations, simple yet grunge-esque style, and minimalistic yet emotive color schemes. The music is absolutely gorgeous, it just feels like I've gone home to a better place in time. The narration is flippant, yet relatable to the extreme, it's hit me in the feels so many times already. I feel like this game was made for me!

I was expecting these to basically just float behind me, but they actually look and move like real meduso. It’s the closest thing to taking a pet with you on a hunt, and I absolutely love it! Not only is it worth the price, I would have gladly payed more for it.

I can honestly say this is one of the hardest and yet most interesting games out there. After 162 hours I've only just gotten a small taste of the game's ending, and still have so much more to do in this game. There's just so much content to it, all you've got to do is find it.

If you enjoy hard games and are looking for something that'll keep your interest for months and years to come, and if you enjoy such huge amounts of content that you can barely even scratch the surface of it without playing for a long time, then this one is definitely for you.

This has honestly been one of my favorite PC games for the longest time. It's hard as heck and feels so rewarding to progress, it's quick to pick up and hard to master, and the developer is a pretty cool dude and puts some serious love into this game too. This game is a must have for anyone that enjoys roguelikes and difficult games.

Cons:

• Short playtime. Game was finished to almost 100% completion in around 3-4 hours.
  
• Somewhat awkward (keyboard) controls. Z is bound to jump like in most platformers, but A is bound to attack, and X for special abilities. With a controller it isn't as much of an issue.
  
• Repetetiveness. You fight the same boss multiple times over, the only difference being a new color, additional attack stages, and higher health. The difficulty curve makes up for it though.

Pros:

• Perfect difficulty curve. Game difficulty and complexity increases as the game goes on, as you constantly get new tools to help you progress and must learn how to use them.
  
• Customizability. You can customize your weapon the whole way through, tweaking it and fine tuning it to meet your needs using points you gain along the way.
  
• Great graphics. The blur in focus when switching between dimensions really pulls you into the game. Movement is very smooth on the eyes. Even all of the sudden movements from special actions in the game transition very smoothly.
  
• Secrets. There are hidden health and gun upgrades all over the place, if you can just find them. If you're a completionist like me, try to find them all and get a 100% save. Heck, 100% three save files for bragging rights!
  
• Replayabillity. Because it was on the shorter side, starting up a new game and getting into it isn't a challenge. Plus, because of the customizabililty with weapons, you can try a new playstyle every game. Or, just challenge yourself to only use certain weapon upgrades throughout the whole game, or none at all!

I wouldn't pay the full $10 for it because of how short it was, but for 99₵, this game is a must buy.
