I think the developers took a step back with this game. There's way too much going on - I find myself completely forgetting what my character can do on a specific run. After I'm a Valkyrie and switch to a chef, I will continue to press down+attack and get hurt because I keep forgetting I don't have that ability anymore. Or I'll think I have the meteor drop spin kick. Or I'll forget that I can't heal on this run, etc etc. Way too many specifics and it becomes an unsatisfying game loop. The map is also way too large with too many zones, I miss having the four zones that were more linear.

Fantastic game! Just beat it after about 37 hours. The end of it started to feel a bit grindy, but for the most part it was amazing. There is a really satisfying sense of accomplishment as you evolve and expand your base, making it more efficient and robust. Even after spending so many hours on my first playthrough, I am still really excited to jump back in and build my second base.
