Slinky mentioned.
(it's a nice puzzle game disguised as a linear metroidvania! there's apparently tons of secrets)

This game is wonderful and charming. Bit easier than most survival horror titles, but it makes for a less stressful experience, and backtracking never feels too extensive! The story, while light, takes an interesting and fresh direction with well known horror tropes. It feels like a breath of fresh air while never straying far from its inspirations.

Rarely is a game so well written as to turn cathartic, meaningful moments into a vulnerability for it to twist within your heartstrings, without robbing it of that original weight.

There's so much I wish I could shout from the rooftops about this game.

My playtime is a bit overbearing because I explored most of this game's small things while refusing to take shortcuts. Yours will likely be shorter.

8 hours long, finished in one sitting.
Pretty much as it appears, but don't worry, it never gets too obtuse, and was almost always fun to piece together.

I know you were just there for a couple of early achievements. But you taught me to pay attention to what was around me, and that altered my experience significantly.
Thank you.

For best results, finish base content once, then access DLC.

The only issue I found with the stealth sections (to the dismay of the other reviewers) was that sometimes you had to goad an enemy into moving away from where you needed to be. It doesn't play as hard into the main gimmick of the base game, yet it still tells its own amazing story that adds onto the original experience.

Late to the party, but easily 9/10, would recommend basically anybody play this if they enjoy the sense of discovery, curiosity and adventure modern open world games tend to lack.

Direct upgrade, as it modifies some things in vanilla content.
The slugcats must be unlocked by playing the others unless you force it in the options. I would not recommend that, as they escalate in difficulty fairly well.

Spectacle game. Gameplay is good, visuals are nice, and voice acting is stellar, but the music is forgettable, very little replayability and it tries really hard to have a story but fails to take the time to give it any depth since it never changes pace, making it just annoying. The one time it does, even leaning towards being spooky, it puts you in the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ backrooms.

Buy if that sounds cool to you I guess.

Rain World is an opportunistic predator that lives on the internet.
It hides out of view, usually underground, but will wave the cute protagonists, OST and artwork as bait for its prey - ADHD neurodivergents currently lacking a hyperfixation. Once they approach, the game may take its time to react, but upon contact, prey are dragged into the ground, only re-emerging after days or even weeks. All individuals who re-emerge will attempt to coerce others into "playing Rain World," implying the animal itself may be parasitic and using its influence to gather more hosts.
