It was 2004. I was 12. I had no idea what I was doing.

Soviet soldiers are invading New York City and somehow the solution is a plumber named Chris Stone. Makes total sense.

You start with zero squad members and end up commanding a small army of ragtag rebels while the most dramatic orchestral music of your entire childhood blasts through your TV speakers. Every time you pulled a lever to cut off water or gas, you felt like an actual genius. You were not. The AI was just very forgiving (until you switch to Freedom Fighter difficulty)

The charisma system where your men follow you everywhere like loyal golden retrievers hit different at age 12. They would die for you. They DID die for you. Repeatedly. Into the same grenade.

I get to feel all this again.

It somehow never got a sequel and that is a wound that has not healed in 20 years.

10/10 Would liberate a Soviet-occupied Manhattan again, if you'd ever remake this classic. Still hum the Jesper Kyd soundtrack in the shower.

* Learned to lockpick the cage
* Broke out of the shackles
* Freed other slaves
* Some of them joined me
* Had one carry me while escaping
* Took a few attempts but finally got away
* Finally got freedom
* Did small jobs and sold loot to survive
* Saved up and bought a prosthetic leg for Legger McLegless
* Trained hard and slowly improved stats
* Built up money and started buying gear and recruiting more people
* Grew the squad to around 50 members
* Hired mercenary squads
* Started getting revenge on the Holy Nation
* Raided Rebirth
* Captured enemies and sold them to the Slave Traders
* Cut off one of their legs for payback
* Realized this game is absolutely fire

It's 2026, and now it's heavily modded. Still awaiting Kenshi 2

Played this way back in 2003, and purchased it again on Steam because RWS are the real G's. Now patiently waiting for the remake. Will always recommend this game because it's whack as fck.

A game released in 2006 yet still played and even modded today. That alone says alot.

Enjoyed it way back then, and sure as hell still enjoying this till today. Having it modded sure adds replayability

The perfect theater of war kind of game

It's a fun game, no doubt, which at the same time gives us an insight on how crypto mining is done. It's interesting since not only do you focus on building your rig and mining, it also has a simulated crypto economy chart (with crypto crash) and that you could to trades. The graphics cards also have a lifespan since players have the option to overclock, which adds a bit of realism. The game also gives you the chance to build rigs for aspiring miners in game. The game also has multiplayer, perfect for crypto enthusiasts to play with their friends. Game is definitely worth the price.
