.Pro: Cool concept and it comes with a checkpoint / continue game option, not to take the simple way out. Also, I'm surprised this game is possible to beat, as in the mountain is fair, but as for the control scheme... just no.

Cons: I am critically wondering how anyone, in the history of ever with this game, made it to the top to finish the game, even fifty whole times. I am using the touchpad on my laptop and no matter what, the controls are not really close to smooth, no matter how high or low both the quality and mouse sensitivity are. No matter the pace of movement, or the previous two functioning elements, the game always finds a way to mess you up at any given chance it gets, no matter your performance. If I had developed this game, mouse rotation would be the last consideration for movement controls. This, as a whole game, excluding some of the vertical elements (the rest are fairly narrow, let's be honest), feels to me, at least, if it was just released as a demo version. Even the wood of the pickaxe should not even over-layer the surfaces, which in some random way messes up the smooth strategic mind of the player to the point where the main strategic routine is random, not matter how many speedruns and cheat guides other's post out, or even no matter how fast or slow the player tries to push up to land on a surface, to where it simply work for any level of skilled player. This game is even tricking you to "get good" or go home, as in destroy your brain to figure out the perfect settings or be stuck in what is really a poor experience. It is bad enough that during the gameplay, you simply have to get through it by either changing the quality and / or your mouse sensitivity, Even after four years, this game has potential, but in this way, this game is not completely it. No game should even be luck-based to the point where rage is intended, and this game is rage intended. Per control schemes and character mechanics, I would rather see the character miraculously use his feet and bare hands to jump, climb, swing, etc. this entire, clever mountain than to see him in a hefty bag, using a pickaxe. That would be simpler, yet still challenging, not to the point of certain emotional trauma. I'm surprised that I managed my composure for nearly three hours, combined, only at first. The highest point I reached was the boxes near the staircase, and I am still not satisfied with this. To note, the chimney / tunnel section is simply the worst, just because it is too narrow for both the character and the pickaxe. Unless you are a shortcut master, back to adjusting those settings. For anyone who has not bought this game yet, one word: don't. It does not matter if you have gone through all the way to finally reach the top or still are attempting to, no matter what, because of a new and fresh, yet messy control scheme and gameplay mechanic, combined, you simply lose. And to note, the will to continue, to test your emotions, is truly is up to the player, such as myself, but both the game and my naive decision are the origin reasons for it.

Overall: It has a good and creative map / layer concept (despite some too narrow layers), but not the right / proper delivery. To be fair, at least it is possible. That is all.

*Review Edit: First of all, I changed my thumb's opinion on this, and yes, I wanted to see if the rest was simply possible, considering I can't even believe that I completed the mountain, not to brag much. Overall, the past review was a so-far review. Foremost and lastly, to everyone who sees this and either has this game or not, all I'm saying that while yes, this is possible to complete, putting it in short, unless you have good mental health and determination, this game is not suitable, as in stay eternal miles away from this game (highly recommended). If you do, as well as if you wish to play this, good luck and have fun, despite the mental torture, that is if you are a new-gamer. Also, it is worth noting that this game is graphically unstable, and regardless of the speed-runners, this game is NOT worth the insanity and time to return to.

All in short, good concept, bad delivery.
