A detective thriller from Lowbirth Games:
This Bed We Made is a little gem in the narrative game world!

Taking place in Montreal in the 50's during a heavy snowstorm in February, you play the role of Sophie Roy. Sophie is a maid at the Clarington Hotel. She just can’t help herself from having a snoop through guests’ belongings while cleaning their rooms. And this is fun to do :)

BUT forget about just snooping around. Get ready to do the real work—cleaning up after guests, sprucing up bathrooms, making beds, and tackling all the nitty-gritty tasks like emptying bins and carting off used glassware. But here's the twist: your choices and actions are the game-changers, shaping the narrative as you go. The question is, do these chores really matter? Well, that's a mystery waiting to unfold from the very start!

BUT there's also a mystery to be solved... with many puzzles too! The puzzles seamlessly blend into the game's world, and solving them has been an absolute blast. Don't worry, Sophie's no stranger to a challenge, and with a simple press of a button, you can tap into her insightful inner monologue, often guiding you in the right direction. Feel like tackling it solo? Just resist the button's temptation. But, trust me, it's a handy lifeline when you need a nudge in the right direction without giving you too much info!

The game's visuals are top-notch, immersing you completely in that retro 50's atmosphere. While the character animations may not reach AAA game levels, the true standout is the phenomenal voice acting. It's the real gem that elevates the entire gaming experience. As Sophie said, you really feel for these characters and understand very well who they are!

If you're a fan of detective, mystery, or narrative games, do yourself a favour and get THIS BED WE MADE. It's a solid 5-6 hour adventure that'll have you totally captivated in its compelling story!

Not a perfect game BUT such a great indie game not to miss! Can't wait for more games from Lowbirth Games! Or more mystery with Sophie? :)

Note: As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I really enjoyed many aspect / story lines in the game. It was nice to explore some of the Montreal history in a game. Well-done!
And the game made me smile when one character said: "We're in the 50's after all, things are possible!"
