I emnet Possible Wiki move
Opprinnelig skrevet av Salt:
However, the creator of that wiki, and I have distinctly different visions and having two commanders in chief would make things a bit more complicated in regards to whose work would stay and whose would be deleted. Someone would have to take the fall. In short, a lot of unnecessary drama that we would rather avoid, not to mention we would be unable to remove oj.k3fka.net from the http from my understanding.

Are you running a Wiki because you want it to become the best possible resource on the Internet, or are you running a Wiki because you like the power trip?

Opprinnelig skrevet av Salt:
Not really Hinalyte. Wikis move all the time. It's quite common nowadays.

While Wikis do usually move, I've seen more Wikis jump ship from Wikia to independent hosts than any other type of move; there was the first wave back in 2010, and with the whole Fandom fiasco, I'm anticipating a second,s maller wave either this year or next year.

In any case, better late than never, I might actually start editing the OJ Wiki when it's off Wikia. Been meaning to get back into the Wiki editing game myself.

Yeah, striking it through was a good choice, because it doesn't make any sense whatsoever. OP has already explained that they don't mind fan service in singleplayer games, and that it's about playing with others.
Like hell I'm going to read through OP's inane drivel to find this out.

I emnet Buy now or wait for Summer Sale?
If you already have the games on Vita, there's really no need to play it on PC, since both versions are identical outside of the PC version having high-res visuals.

But if you're still interested, it goes on sale every so often, and a sale during summer isn't too unlikely; the last time it went on sale during the Holiday Sale, the price was slashed from 20 dollars to 12 dollars.

That was the point. Tsumugi had no idea who the killer was because of Kokichi's meddling, and more than likely, she had expected either Kokichi or Maki to be the true killers. As such, she had to resort to recycling props from a previous season to off Kaito.

Beyond that, I'm really struggling how you can think any of the executions were derivative. Minus maybe Tsumugi.
That ignores that, in v3, DR1 and 2 were VIDEO GAMES, not live action shows like v3 itself.
Who says they can't remake the games for primetime television?

There's also the matter of some of the executions being either slightly derivative of DR1 and DR2, especially Kaito's execution being almost exactly the same as Jin Kirigiri's execution at the beginning of DR1, straight down to Monokuma laughing in the dust after the rocket crashes back to Earth.

That was the point. Tsumugi had no idea who the killer was because of Kokichi's meddling, and more than likely, she had expected either Kokichi or Maki to be the true killers. As such, she had to resort to recycling props from a previous season to off Kaito.

it's not even as good as 1 or v3 so why is it the fan favorite. it can't be the characters because most of them are ♥♥♥♥ing♥♥♥♥♥♥ why?
yet v3 has the lowest ratings out of all of them
You can chalk it up almost entirely to the ending; the ending is the last part of the story, and thus, the part people remember most, and given how polarising the ending itself was, that's going to cause people to fairly or unfairly mark the game down. Doesn't help that DRV3 costs 60 bones compared to the first two games.

fwiw, my gut says that DRV3 was my favourite game because of the excellent writing, best character roster, KILLER soundtrack, and solid gameplay, but the ending (and trial 1) really make it hard to judge in relation to DR1 and DR2, which were generally solid throughout.

So... Im in Chapter 3, if I restart the trial in Chapter 2 with a different difficulty, does the difficulty carry to chapter 3 until the end?

If you finish Chapter 2 on a higher difficulty, it'll carry over when you continue the game after the trial, though you still have the opportunity to switch before trials start. I'd recommend sticking with the highest difficulty.

Also what order should I play? (I have 1,2, Ultimate Despair Girls and Soon 3)

1, 2, then UDG. Note this becomes a lot more complicated if you're into the side materials and such, even if most of them suck. V3 is separate from the rest of the canon, so you could theoretically enjoy that whenever, though there are some callbacks and references to previous games, so it's probably best to save that for last.

Opprinnelig skrevet av Touko Fukawa:
Touko best waifu hahaaa

That ain't Mukuro. I didn't care much for her in DR1 compared to the rest, but UDG made her one of my favourites. She's probably the best part of that game, tbh.

I guess I'm just miffed that some things are explained in great detail and other (plot important things) are explained pretty much by "because otherwise the story couldn't have happened"?

This is basically the MO of DR, especially for the games that come after DR1. Whether or not they did a good job explaining what they did is up to you to decide.
First off, spoilers mang, not everyone has finished this game yet. even if basically everyone knows Junko is the big bad, but that's besides the point

I can't tell if you've played DR2 or not, because of Steam's moronic privacy system, so there will be DR2 and UDG spoilers (alongside some spoilers for DR3 and DR IF) in this post.

4. Junko and her sister somehow manage to install automatic turrets, a monitor center, secret openings for Monokuma, gain access to the school's infrastructure (e-handbooks, doors etc) and then erase every student's memory of the last 2 years.

How did number 4 happen? Like, I've read that there are extra material that expand on the school, but how does two girls find and install all these things and kidnapp the headmaster without anyone notice or complain?

Most of this hasn't been completely explained, and likely, we're supposed to fill in the blanks outselves. That said, most of the security system was designed to prevent anyone from getting in, but it's also very easy to use barriers and such to prevent anyone from escaping; just look at ADX Florence or the Korean DMZ.

As for being able to hijack the infrastructure, Ultra Despair Girls implies that Junko had considerable technical know-how on her side, with Towa Corp and Monaca being on her side. It's not completely impossible for her to have taken over the infrastructure with their help. Danganronpa If also suggests Junko could have manipulated the DR1 cast into helping her end goal; Chihiro is implied to have programmed the AI that became Monokuma, for instance. Of course, DR3 had to rain on this parade by not showing Junko being a deceitful snake, but I'm not going to rant about DR3 for the 105th time.

Opprinnelig skrevet av Grahost:
Or, was it that the students agreed to everything because they were full of despair? I know they agreed to the memory erasing to lose their despair, but what about everything else?
It's implied Junko, whether by herself (since DR3 shows that she can somehow take on Juzou in a fistfight, despite Junko getting chased away by Kyoko in DR1...) or with the help of other parties (likely Mukuro, though I'm sure Peko, Fuyuhiko, Akane, and several others could easily fill this niche), knocked out the students and forcibly wiped their minds with the help of Yasuke Matsuda's inventions from Danganronpa Zero.

Opprinnelig skrevet av Grahost:
Even if that's the case, the students are locked in, how did they get everything?
This is never explained. My personal theory is that Byakuya used his connections with Togami Corp to ensure their safety, since he frankly has no reason to stick around otherwise.
You haven't mentioned getting all of the "hearts" by taking the various students out on dates. Have you been doing that, or no?

Opprinnelig skrevet av Monsieur Crow:
Sweebo's 6 revive roll made more sense when Melted Memories was broken out of this world, to be fair. I think kicking it down to 5 wouldn't be so bad, neither would buffing MM's high cost.
In this scenario, by 'buffing', do you mean an increase or a decrease in cost? Since you alude to its past state, I'm sure you know that it used to cost 50 stars, which was widely debated at the time, but wasn't until pretty recently that it finally saw a change. If we assume full hands, no Arus, it's technically a little cheaper now, unless you run Prez alongside it, which is honestly not the best idea imo, since it's handing a cheap, fairly easy way to get out of potentially 2 reversed cards to one or more players.

Anyway, what cost would you deem reasonable enough to warrant a buff of 5 REC? Or are you saying only one rebalance should be applied?
So it turns out I've really been out of it and thought it still cost 50 stars. Disregard that portion, then. I do remember the cost being debated on for a while, but tbh, if anything, it was comically underpriced on Sweebo's release, and then it became comically overpriced with her rightful nerf. I think now is a perfectly acceptable price.

In any case, I don't really see a need for Sweebo to keep her 6 revive roll.
