Imagine buying from salesman you know lies to his teeth to sell you stuff, but the stuff he sells still kinda get the job done.
You know this - so when he tries to sell you stuff, these days you buy it anyway thinking "hey, he lies, but its fine at least he kinda delivers every time, right???"

Then you play Starfield.

I wasn't expecting anything from Todd, and even accounting for his penchant to lie I'm STILL disappointed.

I've been playing Bethesda games since Daggerfall and let me tell you something, the moment I started the game, exasperation.

Bad news: The longer you play the game, the worse it gets. I am at times dumbfounded why things in this game are still a thing in 2023.

I don't think even mods can fix this game. Apparently, this game is proof Bethesda is actually regressing as a studio.
This isn't just a "run of the mill" game, every aspect of it is generally worse than Bethesda's other titles.
Gunplay is terrible. Gameplay is a chore. Story and Conversations are so bad you can literally skip parts of it and it wouldn't make a difference. NPCs are still the same as they have been circa Skyrim. No reason why you want to immerse yourself - the planet exploration is terrible, and I thought Mass Effect 1's planet exploration was bad. This takes the cake.
This entire game is a pain to go through because of how frustrating it is.

tl;dr Just play Skyrim instead, surprisingly it's way better than this turd.
