I have both a burning love and hatred of this game. The amosphere is breathtaking, and the existing story is one of the most captivating I have ever played through, and I have extensive expirience in first person story/survival games. But at the same time, I struggle to enjoy the game at times. I have lost progress in both story and challenges due to bugs where you become stuck in place, and little bugs have resonating effects. I garuntee if I played this game for another 100 hours and took notes on every time I expirienced a game-breaking bug or design flaw that hurt my in-game expirience, I would have a huge list. But I digress. The core game is extremly addicting, and the story mode itself has a lot of replayability value, with an intriguing storyline that is easy to get invested into. Assuming Hinterland follows up on their promise of a new chapter in December, I will be happy in that regard. The core gameplay is clean with a few bugs, but that is easily overlooked by the good design choices made by the developer; the stamina, hunger and thirst and condition meters all are very easy to manage once you get a hang of things. Weapons are balanced, and if you're into achievement hunting everything in this game just requires grinding, not luck. The areas are all beautiful and it's pretty hard to get lost. Overall the game is one of the best in the genre, but it is not without its problems
