To answer your question from the 2fort match (at least, I believe it was yours): a hypochondriac episode is a period where you become irrationally convinced that you have a serious or fatal medical condition. Basically, you get stuck on a loop where the only thing you can think about is that condition, and you're constantly misinterpreting things as symptoms of it.

It's a maddening thing to go through. I've had multiple episodes myself, which is why I figured I'd give a detailed answer.
