If you want a game with beautiful graphics, a dynamic and interesting story, and excellent gameplay mechanics please go visit another game because this one is not meant for you. If you're not playing this game to play a game and just enjoy yourself with all the ridiculousness that it has to offer it's a work of art. I was hardly ever not entertained because everything from weird gameplay mechanics to speaking and text popping up was always so ridiculous that there was some fun to be found in them.

In the game you get to play as two characters:a tribes person (by the way good on the developer because this was literally the only game I've found on steam to do with the indigenous Taiwanese), and a strange master person thing. There's a myriad of quests you have to complete throughout the game, ranging from hunting boars, to fighting rival tribes, to fighting invading imperialist Japanese, as well as liberating some lower class farmers from the tyranny of the upper class people that have been possessed by gremlins who only release the bodies of their victims upon their deaths.

The story of the game is very confusing, at least when played in English (I've yet to try it in Chinese), but this isn't entirely a bad thing because when you don't know what's going on it's almost impossible to predict what the game will throw at you next. I constantly found myself laughing at the bits of dialogue that appear as you progress, especially because in the English mode characters commonly use English internet slang like "OMG". Pretty much any other time this would be degrading and annoying, but here it just sort of works because the game is so far removed from anything possible that it doesn't seem like it's cynically trying to appeal to the younger generation, it's just some extra unintentional comedy sprinkled on top of the meringue pie of insanity that is this game.

Overall I strongly recommend playing this game if you're looking for a good time indulging in absurdist humour.

This game is incredibly fun and suprisingly addictive.
I find that the amount of micromanagement is enough to be challenging, however not so tedious and uneventful that it becomes boring or irritating. The mechanics of the game are fairly easy to pick up as much of it is very simple and straightforward. The challenges offered always let you know how to complete them (although you do have to do some digging by yourself), and they all offer a challenge while not being to difficult or long. The music within the game is very calm and relaxing, while not being to repetitive. One great feature is that you can unlock new tracks the more challenges you complete so it's unlikely that you'll ever be listenning to the same thing for long. The art style is simplistic and stylized and is fairly charming after looking closer into it. In terms of mechanics there aren't very many major bugs or glitches and things such as the selective breeding feature is a lot of fun to play around with no matter how much you do (although it does require a bit of patience).
If you love to make beautiful nature scenes or play god by making sheep bounce to the moon I'd highly recommend this game.

The cultural ties are very nice, although the game is fairly glitchy, but after a while it's easy to get over the small glitches quickly with some experimentation. Overall the gameplay is alright and there isn't really much wrong with it although the AI could be improved a bit, but I find a lot of the things in the game hilarious to mess around with, like trying to catch the pua'a and the magic healing kalo, but I do wish that the game would be a bit longer and a bit more challenging, as well as having a couple of the mechanics a bit more apparent.
