Clearly inspired in Higurashi - When They Cry, The Way We All Go does a great job as a horror Visual Novel in it's own way. One of the greatest points of this masterpiece is the awesomely well-done mixing between violence/horror and comedy moments.

If you liked Higurashi, this is a "must play" game for you.

WARNING: Prepare yourself to experience some heavy subjects as depression, murderer (in a brutal way), bullying, intense paranoia, violence in general and animal killing & dissection.

At first, you probably won't like the main character. She's a mess: manipulative, lies a lot, steals, mean to her true friends and gets manipulated by a jerk classmate.

As the story goes by, you'll see some reasons that explains why she's making poor choices. Also, she'll notice her own failures and start to feel regret.

If you were once a teenage and have dealt with some complicated experiences like death, divorce, confused relationships... you'll for sure relate with her story and be touched by it.

Journal is an unique and heartmoving experience. Give it a try!

P.S.: Don't forget to find the secret ending in your second playthrough. You'll love it!

A charming Visual Novel about a magical world where humans and creatures called Luccretias, a mix between humans and cats, co-exist. As humans fear almost anything they can't control and have full comprehension about, most habitants of Leezera nurtures hate towards the Luccretias.

One day, Lillia, our protagonist, discovers that she's a Luccretia. How will her life be affected by that sudden discover? Will her relationship with Ronan, her beloved childhood friend, change? Will humans and Luccretias be able to co-exist pacifically in the future?

The game itself is pretty short and has two different patchs, who lead to two different endings. Sadly, the game focus too much into Lillia/Ronan relationship (they're a very cute couple indeed) and often forget the rest of the characters and the story itself. The developers left a lot of gaps in the story opened to be filled by a sequel, that I'll definitely play.

TL;DR: This game is a short but enjoyable experience and it needs a sequel.

Her Story is a game about a detective that is looking into an old case of murder video files. The gameplay consists into searching video files by tags and try to understand the whole story of Hannah (wife of the murdered guy, Simon), who is being interrogated. Is she guilty? Who murdered Simon? What really happened?

Well... What more can I say? I'm still shocked by my gameplay experience. The game's plot is unbelievable, shocking, disturbing... can even be considered disgusting. I didn't consider it an excting gameplay unless when it was about to end, but if you like disturbing police stories, you'll probably enjoy this one a lot.

This game may seem just a bird date simulator made just to provoke intense laughs, but it isn't. It's true that Hatoful Boyfriend provides a lot of funny, silly and even non-sense jokes but that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Actually, the game is a post apocalyptic story full of emotional traps. It includes 15 alternative endings and a true one. You can only play the true one after playing most of the others, but I suggest that you finish every other ending before tryin' the true one.

As the stories progress and you accomplish different endings, you'll learn a bit more about different characters. Their stories, their backgrounds, their aspirations and their wounds... They'll look just like real people and you'll start to love them. Bit by bit, the details of each bird story will form the background scenario for the true ending that's completely thrilling, gorgeous and unexpected. Get ready to shed a lot of tears.

I recomend this masterpiece to every Visual Novel fan. Believe me or not, this game is much more than it looks like.

A short and depressing game for the ones who enjoy a "feels" trip.

Well, you'll probably relate to something you have experienced in the past while playing and will be depressed. You probably had a manipulative jerk friend that just used you to cheer her/him up when needed and just tossed you like trash a few years later just as Emily will do to you in this game. Sorry for the spoiler.

Your choices won't matter. You'll end up alone and unhappy anyway. Allow Emily to visit you since she suggested it? You're a manipulative pervert that was planning to abuse her since she was vulnerable. Don't allow her to visit you? You're an insensitive jerk who lied about being there for her when she needed. Show an interest in another girl? You won't get her either, your college friend will. Sorry.

Everyone had a hypocritical friend like Emily and a sad story similar to that, that's why this game is good. Get ready to feel depressed.

Date Warp is the oldest creation of Hanako Games available on Steam. It's a well-written sci-fi Visual Novel with dating simulator elements.

Janet is a freshman in Brooke College, Memphis. She is an introverted young woman who never dated before and decided to agree going on a date with Bradley, one of her collegues, to appease her roommate, Vanessa. They go on a pretty much cold date without any attraction and got hit by a furious storm in the middle of the night while they were trying to go back home. Bradley’s car gets busted in the middle of nowhere and phones do not pick any signal. Before they start to get desperate, Janet manages to spot the lights of a mansion nearby. They decide to ask for help and the mansion's owner, Nathaniel, decides to allow them to spend the night there due the ferocious storm. The next morning, to everyone's surprise, they discover that no one can leave: all the doors and windows of the mansion are surrounded by a stange barrier. Can you uncover the secrets of this mystery mansion and leave unhurt?

Characters are vivid and interesting: each one have their own well-developed background story. This game totally worth it. You can enjoy 11 different endings depending on your choices and an intriguing main plot. Each choice option comes with a wiring mini-game for you to enjoy. It's like a pipe game, but with wires. It is cute and presents a casual feeling for your relaxation time. Also, there's one "true ending" (the "Resolution" ending, mentioned in the achievements). When you get most of the other endings, you'll able to get it (and you can get a bonus scene - and the "To The Future" achievement - if you complete all other endings before it). In my opinion, this ending is the sweetest and most complete one. That being said, this game has high replay value.

Hanako Games did a lovely work by creating Date Warp!

Cursed Sight is a very bittersweet and touching experience. A mature story about friendship, love, war, selfishness and fate and, as life in general, there's no "happy-ever-after ending".

Even though it's a bit short (you can finish all routes in four hours or less), the story really is worth your time.

There are only a few decisions during the game. However, each choice is heartbreaking and leads to a significantly different ending.

A must buy if you are looking for a short, emotion filled story to cry to. And get yourself ready to cry a lot.

Cinders is an amazing reinterpretation of the Cinderella's Tale in the form of a Visual Novel, where we don't necessarily have a naive protagonist and no one is entirely good or entirely evil. As in life, this game grants us many more options than the ones who will led us to the childish "happy ever after ending", after all.

The writing is as great as it's unique artwork. All the characters are well-developed and all small choices are significant and influence the plot. Should Cinders really just marry the prince, loving him or not? Marry the prince but, screw him, let's rule alone? Maybe she should kill her stepmother and take hold of her estate instead? Run away and start a new life elsewhere? You decide!

A must play game for everyone who likes Visual Novels.

CAFE 0 ~The Drowned Mermaid~ is an average Visual Novel that tells us the story of Marin, a girl who died a miserable death, going seven days back into the past with the help of a mysterious waiter from a weird cafe. She tries to uncover the reasons behind her death, since she has no memories of who is she or what happened.

The player must complete four endings in order to be able to get the true ending, that explains what really happened with Marin. The Novel mechanic is kind of strange. I don't want to spoil your playthrough, so I will not give anymore detail. The graphics are really above average, the BGM is repetitive and the plot in general is a bit poor.

Even though the game is really short and a bit repetitive (I took like 3 hours to get all endings and achievements), it's true ending can be a little unexpected and make us think twice before trust into someone else. As we see in the game, people can be selfish and blinded by their own desires, being true monsters sometimes.
