Thanks @peremptor. I didn't hate it... but looking in the rear-view mirror and thinking back to the time I spent playing Hades, I realize the entire time I was held on somewhat of a "hook" waiting for the good part. And it... ultimately was an unsatisfying investment of my time. It was *good enough*. Just like Curse of the Dead Gods, these types of game only have so much gas in the tank from the outset. I need to remember that before clicking the Purchase button sometimes.

Just read your Hades review and I agree the thing is the game gaslights you into thinking all the grinding is necessary for the game to feel epic and what not and for a while it works until it doesn't and I never felt the gameplay itself was anything but a repetitive spam fest and the story promises to deliver but ultimately it gets lamer as it progresses and the pay off is realizing you wasted all that time playing this instead of a game that respects your time with good gameplay that in itself justifies your playtime.

Well I though the same of Loop Hero but it is actually more subtil than that in that you have to discover the combo with the cards and tiles. but yea I can understand how it feels...not playable XD
