Digseum - A short but pleasant clicker
Disclaimer: I spoil the majority of the game in this review.

A Casual clicker made by Rat Monthly.
Game length: I finished the game in two hours.

The game is quite simple in it's entirety. You unearth artifacts and collect "people". People will give you gold over time and by getting artifacts and upgrading them, you can increase the amount of gold per second. With the gold you collect, you spend on upgrades and "unlock" to unearth new artifacts which will in turn boost your gold earnings.

The game loop is simple but fun enough to keep you playing until you reach the end. There is a rebirth/prestige system but it's mostly in place to give you another form of upgrade and not to pad the gametime as there are big upgrades that greatly reduces the amount of time required to 100% the game.

The visuals and audio are what you'd expect from a two hour game. They're not bad and the visuals especially are charming.

Summary
I do recommend this game to others even if the price to game time ratio is a bit off. It's a nice game for a boring afternoon.

A short but satisfying game to mine away at your stress
Keep On Mining is a relaxing Clicker game that allows for a few hours of satisfying mining and upgrading. However, don't be tricked by the "idle" tag; this game isn't an idler.

The game summarized
To summarize the loop of the game: you mine resources, spend the resources on upgrades and then mine again. It's simple, but the satisfaction from seeing your mining output increase per round captivates you enough to continue playing.

Game Length
The length of the game depends on your focus. You can opt to upgrade the more "important" upgrades that really boost your progression. Or, you can choose to take it slow and drag out the number of hours needed to fully complete the game.

I fell in between the two playstyles and I have a total of 10 hours on the game. You can definitely continue playing after you've 100% completed the game, but nothing new of interest will be there for you.

Visuals/Sounds
While the visuals and sound design aren't something to rave about, they are definitely not bad. Something to note: the sound design really helps increase the amount of satisfaction you get from mining away at the ores. This effect sadly wears off later in the game when you have a bunch of effects going off repeatedly and you can no longer hear the individual ores be destroyed.

Summary
The game is worth its price, especially if you enjoy this kind of game genre. If the game looks intriguing to you and you happen to have a few bucks lying around, then maybe try it. 7.8/10

A Promising Game That Turns into a Grind Fest
OBS! THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS
TLDR at the bottom

After 74 hours of playtime, I have finished all achievements, unlocked every possible pet and almost maxed out the Talent Tree. And before I leave this game to the depths of my steam library, I thought it fitting to leave a review explaining my experience with the game.

Quick Summary of Game Resources
The game is about slaying one selected boss monster repeatedly to obtain resources such as Materials, Items and Gold.
Gold lets you upgrade buildings and recruit followers which help you slay the boss.
Items give special effects by being equipped to Advisors.
Materials are used to upgrade the strength of Items.
All of this is shown clearly in the Gameplay Trailer.

Gameplay
With the Game Resources explained above, covering the gameplay loop becomes a lot easier because it's not very complicated.

The beginning of the game
The game starts off slow with the player slowly amassing upgrades and increasing their damage. Depending on what the player chooses to focus on, the time it takes to transition into mid game can vary by a lot. Personally, it took me a combined three hours of active gameplay to find a way to skyrocket my progress. It was the Farmlands building.

By combining the Farmlands building and the item Ruff. I was able get into the gameplay loop the player will be running up until they finish the game.

Mid game to late game
Mid game starts once the player has unlocked most upgrades and buildings. At this point, the Player has also unlocked the Prestige system. This, as shown in the Gameplay Trailer images, is a tree full of upgrades for the various buildings and followers.

Up until this far, the Player has probably been sticking to one build or trying out multiple by combining Advisors, Items, Followers and Buildings. Looking at the Prestige Tree, they wonder "What other builds can I make to become stronger".

To unlock more nodes on the Talent Tree, the player unlocks two buildings, the Alchemist and the Marketplace and start farming bosses to obtain more resources which they trade in for Divine Gems every 20 minutes.

This is the most broken down and straight-forward progression path that I can describe as well as the one I myself took.

My thoughts and critic
I had fun at the start. The first five hours or so was quite active and it felt like I had an impact on the game with my builds. However, as time went on, a very big issue became glaringly clear as I unlocked more and more nodes and Items. There is next to no build variety.

I'm a very build oriented person so I made a few builds. Sadly, most of them eventually didn't have the damage scaling for later bosses or were painfully slow, making them feel obsolete. Very few builds actually ended up working and a lot of the nodes on the Talent Tree do basically nothing. Some Items sound strong but when put into action, they fall flat.

Outside of builds, the grind of items also became very boring. After entering the mid to endgame stage, I spent most of the time just having the game open while I played League or WoW. This is because there was nothing else for me to do in the game. I farmed Items and resources.

What could be better? imo
  • More bosses
  • More Items
  • More pets
  • Give some pets unique abilities
  • Give certain followers more strength through additional nodes or items
  • Improve the Collection Progress system - It stops around midgame
  • Rework the way you get Divine Gems, the current system is just a boring grind
  • More complex Wheater mechanics
  • Rework the Resident system - It's currently very one-sided and becomes a very limiting factor
  • Add rewards for completing certain achievements
  • Add ways for the player to add color the game. 50+ hours of grey is boring.
These are just a few of the things I came up with but I'm sure if I played through the game again, I'd find other things to point out.

TL:DR / Final thoughts
To summarize whether the game is worth it's price tag - I'd have to say no. While the game's core is promising and if expanded upon can evolve into something very impressive, as it stands right now, it only captivates you just enough to keep the game running in the background while you do chores or play another game.

Fun game. However, game is not even close to finished and sadly the replayability isn't that good yet. Just like his previous game, Wedding Witch, updates are an irregular and I hope Chowbie decides to update the game in the future.

Other than the lack of content, the game is fun for what it has. I'd recommend you get it during a sale for now until it gets more content

If you find yourself ever complaining that your internet is too good? Then this is the game for you. Even if you have perfect connection, the gameplay will seem like you're playing with 300ms. And luckily, to sweeten the deal, this only happens occasionally. This feature allows you to get stuck on almost anything, your morph form will spazz out, even if you perform the mechanics in time and all should be good, they're not. For the game thinks the jump you just performed was you crawling on the floor like a person without legs.

This game will give you a new appreciation for the mechanics in wow because there, your actions and input actually matter, and I don't even like that game.

This game will probably mess with your computer. Enter the game, sit in main menu and leave and you will probably come back to the wonderful Blue screen you've seen somewhere on the internet before. Don't buy this game. From what I've played, it's clearly just a copy/paste of some other shooter game they've released before. Don't bother, save your money.

Not to mention the cringe people with open mic

EDIT:
I have now played a total of 27 hours of this game and I can reassure you that it's not worth the money. Most of the things you find cool, like character skins and whatnot, is locked behind a paywall. If you want to play the zombies mode, I don't recommend it even then because the slightest loss of connection or anything noteworthy will disconnect you. You will also most possibly experience a crash, freeze which will have you closing the game in task manager or just kicked because of ?.

This is a joke of a game, a clear copy paste from previous itirations. My only reason for my playing this is because my friend plays it so don't be confused over my increase in hours since this review. I NEVER play this without proper reason to do so.

It's fun if you're not brain-damaged like I am. 174 Hours on record and I can't still read enemies. My brain is simply too "slow".
