this is actually the first and only free to play game i really enjoy playing, could be because i've tried the membership through the basic pack on humble bundle and it doesn't make that big of a difference.
nice to see a free to play model done right for once, keep up the good work devs!

and i normally don't really like card games either but the way they've tied it in with the items is pretty kool imo.

it's free, it's fun, give it a go and decide for yourself

more in depth below but to sum it all up: the game is really enjoyable and cute and something worth playing if you like puzzle games, on your phone. on pc it's not as enjoyable, if you don't like straight mobile ports you should stay away from this game, pick it up on mobile instead, thats what i intend to do.
but on the otherhand, if you don't care if it looks and plays exactly like a mobile game you should give it a go



its clearly made for mobile and i hate mobile ports on pc where they didn't even take the time to make a pc menu, options and controls when they ported it or even when they made it in the first place. just feels lazy imo, pc and mobile are 2 completely different platforms and people have complained about this issue a long time and still devs are making the same mistakes.

the ui and menu is the standard mobile menu, its 4 pages of levels and the 5th even says more coming soon and the regular 3 objective 3 stars system on all levels, like i said standard mobile game stuff.
there's no menu at all its just the level select and no options just sound sliders when you're in a level.

the way you play it is clearly made for mobile too, you click something and drag in the direction you want to shoot it then let go.
i breezed through little more almost 1½ page of levels just under an hour with 3 stars on everything. sure some of the levels had some challenge to it but the majority of the game was just about moving them around to one corner so i can move something else out of the way for the first pack to be moved all the way back with the annoying "click, drag, let go" controls.

with all that said, the game in itself has really cute graphics and the gameplay mechanics where you cut them in half or eat them to get them to match up the right numbers is pretty fun and something i'd actually really enjoy playing on my phone when i'm in the bathroom or got some other down time. sadly i got an android so i have to wait for the android release but as far as the pc version it's a clear refund on my end.

I just completed it and all i can say is amazing. Its probably the most beautiful looking platformer i've ever played, one of the most beautiful looking games recently period. Its not often that i think a game has the complete package but Ori comes very close, amazing visuals, great music and a beautiful story.
At first when i saw screenshots and small clips of gameplay i didn't really expect it to be a metroidvania but since i love platformers and love metroidvanias even more i was pleasantly surprised and i'm not sure if its because i'm used to platformers and metroidvanias but i really don't understand how people thought this game was hard, at all. Compared to a lot of other platformers and metroidvanias this game was really easy in its platforming and the save system is too generous, as soon as you get some energy you can save whenever you want, wherever you want and how often you want. If you just explore your surroundings you'll find plenty of life cells and energy cells which increases your maximum health and energy. And halfway through the game you have so much life and energy that you can barely spend it all, its mostly insta-kills that get you. You won't find as much health pickups as you do with energy pickups, so with an upgrade you start to get health back every time you save and that became my main source of health later on in the game. if i lost some health i just saved a few times and i was back to full health again.

So yeah, i really enjoyed the game. Its a great metroidvania, not too easy and not to hard, that does all of its platforming really well and fair, i didn't experience a single situation where i got frustrated because the game was unfair in some way or unnecessarily difficult. if i failed at a jump or something it was my own fault. but i get that some people saw the art style and thought it was going to be a lot easier and aimed to a younger demographic or something,

Really awesome game, definitely worth a playthrough. Highly recommended.

This is a really kool game, i don't know if there are many other games like this out there but this is my first ASCII RPG adventure and i'm really enjoying it.

Took a while to get everything (mostly everything, i still don't get everything) but that might just be me being slow and not using the manual more than a few times to look up specific things i were wondering about but when you understand the basics its really fun and i have to say its been a long time since i played a game where i got so immersed that i totally spaced out and several hours passed by even though it felt like a couple of minutes. I really didn't expect that from an ASCII game

I got the original for desura in a groupees bundle but i can honestly say that its totally worth buying the black edition here on steam
the music is great
really kool artwork when it comes to items, enemies, npc's even in the character creation
and the combat has alot more depth to it than i expected, the whole game actually got more depth and humor to it than i expected.

If you think it looks interesting you'd probably enjoy it, so i can honestly recommend this game to anyone who likes RPG's and finds the artstyle interesting.
be prepared for some addictive ASCII gameplay
