Free to play, but still no players in South East Asia. Shame it wasn't free in the first place.

There have not been any good TDs on steam for a while, and this one is is no exception.

The towers are so weak, you have to be constantly needing to use spells which are fiddly, dull and monotonous.

The levels where you need to attack are just awful.

The town building is probably the worst aspect. You just click on what it wants you to, you're not really choosing anything. The fact that a town-skip option was added should've indicated that it was not worth including.

I've bought this game over 6 months ago and waited until early access ended to ensure I had a complete experience because it was getting amazing reviews.. Maybe this is why I'm so let down and refunding..

As someone who somewhat enjoyed Hitman GO, the puzzles in Lara Croft GO were too easy for most of the game and rather tedious by the end. The hidden collectables are inferior to the challenges of its predecessor and the puzzle items are less interesting. Overall Hitman GO is superior and has more charm.

In both games I did not enjoy the mechanic of forced movement, which forces you to go to extraordinary lengths to simply kill an enemy you're already standing near. While many of the puzzles revolve around this element, after the tedium of both games I will definately try to avoid this mechanic and thereby this series into the future.

The premise of Ziggurat has great potential. You're a wizard who must battle through an ancient dungeon using an array of powerful spells and artifacts.

A big issue is that you don't feel like a wizard at all; the 'spells' are just reskins of guns with different stats. Eg, you have a "staff" which shoots a spread of 'pellets' which is powerful at short range like a shotgun... Your basic 'wand' shoots single pellets at a slow speed for low damage like a pistol. You can find another weapon that shoots at fast rate like a automatic gun... Give me some freakin sweet spells or something, rather than just shooting 'energy pellets' all the time!

The mediocre feel of the guns is not helped by the bullet sponge enemies who must absorb a ton before dying. The enemies are uninspired and generic, both in design and behaviour.

On both of my playthroughs of this game I got to the final boss without any real challenge. None of the situations or traps were memorable. The final boss is an extreme difficulty spike, which is both uncalled for and unsatisfying. I have read online that you're just meant to brute force run up to him and spam rather than try to dodge or attack from range. Doesn't sound very wizard-like and I have no interest in grinding for another hour just to give it another go..

Choosing perks through the levelling system is fun, but once again, the choices are not very interesting, and don't enable you to create a specialised mage which would have been ideal... I want to be a necromancer, hydromancer, geomancer, chronomancer etc..

Like many poor rogue-"lites" this game lets you unlock additional spells and weapons the more you play.. Some of these may be more interesting than the default selection (although none that I saw), and I got up the final boss on my first play through with the generic weapons anyway. What motivation do I have to grind the whole game again to unlock more? All/most of the items should be available on every playthrough to make each playthrough more varied.

Overall I like the game concept, and the first person gauntlet idea, but Ziggurat is ultimately flawed, dull and amateurish.

I hope that a future game will build upon Ziggurat's potential.

More like half complete!

The concept of navigating through a futuristic maze filled with deadly traps, while not new, is fun and simple.

Initally Half Dead has the ingredients for a great game, however after 20 minutes you'll have seen everything the game has to offer. All 15 of the traps will seem boring, repeditive and you'll just wish the damn doors would open faster. The enemy 'monsters' are particularly pitiful.

If you're going to base a game around random encounters there needs to have enough randomisation and player mechanics to keep it interesting. Considering the entire game is just one duplicated room, there's no real excuse for being so lazy about this.

Overall the game feels very half finished, like they had the bare bones of a game and figured that was enough to release it. Its a shame because I think with more work this game could be quite popular.

For many it's probably worth grabbing for its low cost, and even I'm not going to refund this game as this game might be fun to show friends for a quick laugh. But I can't rightfully recommend it for the reasons I've given.

I would love to see the developers add more content, steam workshop added or another game building upon this concept further.

Update- While steam workshop has been released, until more traps are added my review is still current.

A fun and unique tower defence and RTS hybrid.

Among all the crappy mobile phone TD ports on steam this game was a pleasant suprise. It's a shame this game hasn't recieved more exposure.

I have a few minor criticisms, such as the lack of achievements, a bit short, and overall could use some more polish such as additional DNA traits. It would be amazing to see a sequel building on this formula.

If you enjoy this game I HIGHLY(!) recommend playing Infested Planet, which is a very similar and probably superior TD / RTS experience.

A fairly solid game for what it is. I had been reminising about Unirally/Uniracers for SNES and Action Henk definately the recreated similar gameplay. Unfortunately they went down the route of needing to retry the course every time you make a mistake if you want to get a half decent time meaning much of the harder levels depend largely upon memorisation. While I enjoy the gameplay it has only taken me an hour to get up to the third to last world on silver times, at which point memorisation seems to be more necessary rather then mostly reflexes. I have better things to do then memorise every level. Some people may enjoy it but most people do not, as evidenced by the achievement levels for this part of the game onwards.

Imagine if you were playing mario kart without the randomness of other players, but every time you didn't make a corner perfectly you had to start the whole race again. Then make every corner extremely unpredictable and unforeseeable without knowing the map. Would mario kart still be as popular as it is?

Perhaps an approach where multiple laps are needed would be better, so you can make some mistakes without needing to reset. As mentioned at the start Unirally/racers had 3 laps, and you could more tricks throughout to speed up when you fall behind.

The controls are tight and responsive, although the wall jumping isn't floaty enough. I like the humour and design of the world which is childish and nostalgic. The shark and lava aspects of the game are great. The characters while fun could have more varied and funny lines.

If you like perfectionist games like Trials give this a go. Otherwise maybe buy it on special and/or just get a refund when you get sick of it like me. I'd probably keep it if it had local coop multiplayer. The online appears to be dead.

Maybe a local coop mode could be done where one player who falls behind can choose to teleport to the player in front and continue on where they are from, as they both try to get the best combined time?

The game 'Speedrunners' is far more fun, accessible, cheaper, has better physics (Action Henk basically copied the hookshot from Speedrunners) and has excellent local and online modes. Grab that instead, or try it out if you like Action Henk.

What few good gameplay concepts this game has are ruined by inevitable need to grind regardless of player ability.

You can't help but imagine this game was originally designed as an app with purchases for kiddies to milk their parents credit cards to get ahead.

Boring grindfest, stay away!

Invisible, Inc. is one of the best games I’ve ever played.

The turn based stealth gameplay is extremely well designed, intuitive and engaging. The cyberpunk setting is excellent, in particular the art style and the music which contributes to the slow building of tension as difficult scenarios unfold. Excellent pacing and difficulty scaling present a highly rewarding challenge without ever feeling unfair or frustrating (like X-Com).

Invisible, Inc. also has superb replayability although I think different endings for completing the game on a higher difficulty setting would have been a rewarding final touch.

I highly recommend this game is anyone who enjoys turn based tactical games. I eagerly await more Invisible Inc content and more quality cyberpunk games (my favourite genre).

Very disappointed with this game and have no idea why it is largely getting good reviews. It claims to be a roguelike like but apart from the presentation it is simply an incredibly boring, repetitive, unforgiving puzzle game.

While the game is based in a dungeon, the enemies never actually attack you unless you attack them. They just sit there! You do nothing more than walk around the dungeon picking which enemies to attack and which to leave till later. The only way you die is when you've run out of options and basically have to commit suicide.

The art style is grotesque and is reminicent of the hideous zoomed in images of something gross from Ren and Stimpy. If you try to run the game beyond its native tiny windowed resolution its looks even worse... somehow

I'm pretty pissed off I paid for this game, and I got it on special. Don't make the same mistake I did and play a real roguelike instead.

Oh and the interface sucks balls.
